Do you deserve to be in your rank?

I have played League of Legends since late season three. I played with friends who already had level 30 from the beginning and very quickly learned how talk trash. I, along with other people of around my rank (I'm silver 5), felt that I deserved much higher ELO than I had. I thought I deserved around high gold or low plat.

After spending season 4 in bronze 1 and giving up, I decided to start anew in season 5 and ended up winning eight promo games, but I was again placed in bronze 1. I quickly found that the positive individuals I encountered in my promos disappeared, and from there to the end of the season I had at BEST 1/3 non-toxic ranked games.

Despite all of this, I found a duo queue partner and got myself up to silver 5, which was my season goal. I played Udyr jungle when sated was really strong and he played Fizz mid. With this combo, we won a ridiculous amount of games, and my current ranked Udyr winrate is still at 69%.

Yet still, there I was in silver 5. With 28 W/ 24 L (54%), I was still in "Elo Hell." I finally realized that I wasn't dedicated enough to carry myself in the long run and wasn't skilled enough to quickly climb. I had greatly improved on use of the mute button, ignoring people, and, finally, learning from my mistakes (As Doublelift puts it, "You have to play to improve, not to win"), but I don't think I'll be trying to hard to get gold this coming season.

I have decided that I have no true desire to climb ranks, and, therefor, do not deserve any higher rank than I have now.

So what do you think? I've added a poll to make it easier to see results, but leave a comment if you wish to be more specific. Do you deserve better than you have? Worse? Are you in the right rank?

Well, I have said what I wanted to, so I'm off. I'll be playing normals and Legend of the Poro King this Christmas. If you wish to join me, my name's Koror. I play on NA(cl), and will be having quite a bit of fun messing around.

P.S. Yeah, 54% is not amazing, but when a champion has that sort of winrate, the champion is usually "OP." Some challenger players maintain no higher than ~55%, so I'll take it. P.S.S op.gg page: http://na.op.gg/summoner/userName=koror

I 100% deserve my rank.

I am in silver, and I deserve to at most be silver 3 instead of 4, but an unfortunate power outage lost me my last promo (was 1-1) and haven't really tried much since. Regardless, I don't belong in plat or diamond or anything, because I would be stomped miserably.

I have a lot, or at least above average knowledge of the game, but my problem is I have maybe average mechanics and not the best decision making as far as fast decision making. I tend to know WHAT to do, but I tend to overthink, or not trust my team and will end up making silly mistakes I know after that moment were wrong.

Like everyone, I've had my moments of thinking I'm better than I am, but the more I've learned about the game, and the more I've played it to learn, the more I've realized my skills and how they measure up. I am improving, so perhaps I'll get that better rank, but until I do, I 100% feel that I am where I belong, otherwise I wouldn't be there. I don't like admitting that I'm only Silver, but that's why I'm trying to improve so I won't have to be silver anymore.

Nah, I don't deserve my rank. I'm in silver 5, but I'm pretty sure I deserve to be somewhere in bronze.

Eh, maybe.

I play with Diamond players (with the occasional Platinums and Master players) in normal games pretty much exclusively, so I could probably get to Platinum 5 at minimum if I really tried.

However, I don't really enjoy the toxicity in ranked games and my connection is occasionally spotty, so I mostly stick to normal games.

Might be something to aim for next season; in the previous season I pretty much stopped after ensuring I would get the Victorious skin.

I don't deserve my rank but I also do. It's more due to me not really trying to be the rank I should be. In Season 4 I made it to Gold and decayed out because I took a break from League. I haven't gotten back into Gold yet because I haven't really tried to, and considering they removed the decay from Gold, I think I could make it back if I tried.

I mean obviously in Season 5 when I did my promos and got placed into Silver 1 I was a bit mad, but it's where I got placed so I know it's where I should be. If I tried harder/played more ranked than a duo queue game maybe once a week I could get back to Gold in no time I'm sure, I just don't really care to at the same time.

I have a friend named Xhevo who I carried to silver 5 and I'm silver 4 he's so lucky I carried him he would have been bronze 5 if it weren't for me.

I think that OP has a bit too few games under the belt to judge both win-rates and the ELO you deserve to be in. But if you have that high win rate with Udyr, any time you play something else your win rate must be quite poor. So perhaps you're just not well rounded enough to get to higher ELO's.

I'm maining support, but I can generally hold my lane when playing with a competent ADC against higher platinums. As a support though you're always running the risk of playing with someone you don't sync well with.

I ended in Gold 3 this season, but started late so didn't get enough games in. I was up to platinum 5 last season, but dropped due to inactivity in the end, which was unfortunate. Next season I'm planning on reaching platinum again and staying there.
