The preseason hasn't even started and already half the posts are QQing about plants. Let's all take a deep breath and try to get excited! A huge new feature is coming! Until they're implemented, please try to stay open minded about Plants. Have hope Riot will make the right decisions.

I cannot be excited about the change Plants might not be bad addition but its bad replacement. They are replacing good stable mechanic with something bad

How can those Plants be better than smite rewards? Smite gives you meaningful choice. Every single Smite Reward is useful based on what you wanna do

krugs - farming, good vs Scuttle Crab Raptors - Ward spotting and ganking

Wolves - anti invade Grump - thronmail for tanks

Red Buff - healing then gank Blue Buff - Mana Replenish, Mana Share

Issue is they don't make the right decisions

This is a horrible idea maybe they can add this to some other game mode but leave it out of ranked

I second this!! :) I can't wait to see how pros use the plants

So I'm not allowed to hate the fact that they are adding more RNG into a game that doesn't need it? Dragons are fine, because at least those have some strategy behind it I guess. (Infernal is coming up, I want to contest that or Cloud is coming up and we are a bit behind, we probably shouldn't contest that because it's cloud) This however? No strategy at all. Cool, makes ranged Junglers like Graves more OP I guess? No jungler is going to try to contest the other exploding plant. The only ones that might get contested are the vision one and the healing, but the vision one, but if I'm going deep enough for the vision one anyways I might as well just place a ward? Wolves vision was still better. Didn't randomly spawn in one area and Wolve spirit follows the enemy in your jungle. Healing one is just stupid and can give the worse player the advantage, and in the video Riot showed it was in the River meaning LANERS can even get this unfair advantage. And guess what? Ranged Champions get all the plants even easier giving them an even bigger advantage.

Fuck if I wanted this much RNG I'd go back to playing PvP Pokemon lmao

My problem is that I don't think plants are going to do what Riot themselves say they want them to do.

Their whole premise is they want problems that aren't "solved and done", yet as best I can see it they plants are "solved" before their release.

  • Blast Cone
  • This is a dumbed-down version of Ziggs's satchel charge.
  • Ziggs has to make decisions about using the Satchel Charge to zone enemies, destroy towers, clear waves, use it for damage or use it as a disengage/engage
  • Blast Cone only has the "use it as a disengage/engage" option, so anyone who knows how to use Satchel Charge has already mastered it.
  • Allowing literally any teammate to throw you back into the enemy team is a very dangerous mechanic. Yeah, at high levels of play it may work out all right, but I feel like in Bronze/Silver it's going to cause a lot of rage quits.
  • Honeyfruit
  • No enemies around? ARAM health pack solved solution - keep it if your team will continue to hold the area, consume it and deny from enemies if you won't hold the area.
  • Enemies around? Eat it if the health will let you do enough damage to turn the tide, otherwise try and attack it as the enemy runs past it to slow them down and make your escape.
  • Scryer's Bloom
  • Don't have wards, lost sight of the enemy, and suspect they've started the objective? Hit it.
  • Taking an objective and don't want to be seen by the enemy team? Hit it.
  • Recalling in the area? Hit it.

I'm all up for game mechanics that aren't "solved and done", but to me this feels like a step backwards from the Jungle Smite buffs. Plus I feel like somethings being taken away from the Jungle position with these changes, and the entire team is allowed to mess things up. Yeah, before this your team may kill a jungle camp you really wanted the smite buff for, but now a teammate who's not thinking can save themselves at the cost of throwing the rest of your team into the waiting jaws of the enemy team.

What are plants? Are we talking about the new champ and Zyra?

This game should be skill and strategy, not rng.
