So often people say "OMG HE ONE SHOT ME" or "ITS ZED, DON'T TAKE insert champ here HE CAN ONE SHOT YOU".

I'd like to enlighten you. "One shot" is a term that means the enemy took your HP from 100% to 0% (Or in recent times anything from about 75%+ to 0%) while only using one spell, attack, or ability, that does damage. As such, champions such as the aforementioned, Zed, can not "one shot" anyone. There are in fact, very few champions who can. Nasus and Veigar are those that immediately come to mind. When a champion such as Zed, Lux, LB, or Annie, can kill you in little over one second that is not called "one shot". That is what is known as a burst.

EDIT: Many people are still defending themselves in that a "one shot" can be a "one combo kill". The answer is no. a "one shot" means One Shot. A one combo kill is a burst.

actually i consider being one-shot, as a one combo kill, so when lb q dash dash chain. If i die, i consider that being one shot

Would you call it "One shot" if the Nasus had to hit you with his Q twice to kill you, but didn't touch you at all in the meantime? No. Because there was 2 seconds between his Qs. So, it was 2 skills... the Annie, LeBlanc, and Zed often take 3-4 skills to kill you(assuming your team didn't feed them), and you call it one shot. Yet you won't call 2 Nasus Q's one shot?

But onto the point. I agree. "One-shot" is just that. ONE SHOT. Anything other than that, is just a very quick death. You shouldn't call anything except when only one skill (or one attack, I'm looking at you two Draven Jhin >.> ) kills you from full, or at least near full. If you're at half health, the one skill killing you isn't 'one-shot' either

That bugs me too OP. "I just got one shotted by Zed, wtf"...."You mean that combo? Cause that was a combo. If you want to get one shotted you can feel free to come pull this Nasus aggro because he's getting on my nerves"

One shot is used liberally, the entire burst rotation of some mages and assassins that can 100-0 is often called a one shot because of how it happens in less than 1.5 seconds giving very little to no opportunity to react to it. The only difference being that they blew all their CDs in bursting you meaning they're much more vulnerable and susceptible to getting counter engaged since they have little to no spells at this point.

It's also somewhat rage inducing getting bursted that quickly since you feel very powerless when it happens so quickly that if you sneezed or blinked you missed your chance to get out of it. Lux is my personal >_< [zombie-brand-facepalm] [zombie-brand-mindblown] [zombie-brand-clap] champion for this because it happens from 1200 units away meaning she's got 0 risk of getting counter engaged upon and in teamfights among all that visual clutter its so easy for her dim little Q to slip by under the radar and herald in your DOOMACIA!!!!!
