new report option: not taking assigned role

Recently to avoid long queues some players have been taking "fill" and then taking what ever role they want anyway. This is completely inappropriate for ranked and a complete disregard for the summoners code and sportsmanlike behavior. This should result in bans.

Asking to trade positions is one thing but trolling your team is another. If you cant play all roles don't take fill. If you're avoiding long queues by taking fill and then taking w/e lane - go to normal mode and practice.

Another option could be to add a third position option instead of just two.

EDIT:

After much discussion in this thread it seems that adding a reporting method in champ select may be helpful.

I have also run into this problem. However I don't think this is how to fix it.

I KNOW that if this were to be the report category, my friend and I would be banned within a week.

Do we steal lanes? No. Him and I like to go off meta bots together, like Nami-Wukong.

Now we don't do this in ranked mind you, but the amount of harassment and salt we get for trying to have fun in norms is silly.

It doesn't even make sense, we choose bot and support he goes Wu bot with me as Nami support, and people start screaming because we are "trolls" because "Wukong isn't a bot."

Mind you, more often than not, they shut their mouths by the time we are 4-0. But for the games where we don't do well, we already get reports for "trolling" and I would rather not start getting reported for more things that I am not doing.

That's just my two cents.

Yes this needs to be addressed.

It needs it's own report that results in bans or low priority que.

If you select fill and you get put in as first pick adc and then pick brand and say going mid that person needs to be reported and set in low priority que plain and simple.

i'm fairly certain theres a more broad report option that would cover this. isn't there a "refusing to communicate" option? just look through the report options and choose the most fitting one

I would like a third option anyway because there are three roles that I play well and I feel like with this new system I may stop playing one of said roles.

the big issue is people pick "fill" and then want anything but support. I think this speaks to a larger issue of that particular role still not being attractive enough to the playerbase as a whole.

I suspect that once Riot gets in a good bit of initial data this will be something that gets flagged automatically like LeaverBuster.

I don't like this unless it has manual review. Because people can trade with their team mates if they want with communicstion, but you know some salty bastard is gonna report if they know the system will auto punish. Esp if that person happens to do bad in game.

Many many times when I lane swap with folks who get countered or whatever.

Is disregarding the assigned roles and picking whatever you want "because muh pick order" actually against the rules in the first place?

It'd make sense for it to be, because avoiding that was one of the main reasons behind the new champ select in the first place, but has Riot actually said it's forbidden?

There are people in this very thread claiming that you don't have to follow the assigned roles if you're first pick, so it'd be nice to nip this mentality in the bud.

I've had people ask to trade, but I say no and they just deal with it. Most of the toxic players I play with are only toxic in game.

I've just run into this problem too. First pick had Top and then asked if he could have mid (that was me). I politely declined, because that is what i chose and I finally for once got it. Well not only did he choose to take mid anyways (because he was first) he picked the champ I preselected I wanted to play. This is highly unsportsman like, and trolls like that should be dealt with.

First off, it is part of Leauge to have these players but the report you suggest should only be in Ranked, not in Norms, where the sky is the limit. Trolling in Norms are quite normal too. But that is what makes the game itself

I wish there was some way to report players for stuff like this somewhere besides after a game as well. I had someone do this to me, and not only did he say he was going to take my role, his friend lower down banned the champion I had hovered, and they were being real jerks about it, too. It would be nice to be able to write down their summoner names and dodge so I don't have to deal with them for the rest of the game.

Hey but i was just experimenting stuff. You gonna ban me cuz im off meta?

Nautricity2/22/2016, 3:26:18 AM1 votes

What about Support Kalista in normals?

RookPusher12/21/2016, 8:49:00 PM1 votes

Adding it in Champ Select is not helpful. That's only going to try an enforce a meta.

I just got some dude that refused to support me because i had the new prestige Kaisa skin. So he ditched me, left me with Xayah / Morgana and went top
