How amazing would a trading system be? Petition to have one implicated

I'm sure lots of you have skins you don't like or never use, or want legacy skins that you simply can't get.

This is where Skin trading could come in, now Riot may not want to add this because it could really slow down skin sales for them if everyone is trading, so my idea is to trade skins each player would have to pay a nominal fee of 250 RP (Or free if Riot wanted to be super duper nice but this wouldn't be reasonable for them)

Even if this was restricted to legacy / limited skins this would still be something amazing, in the past Riot used to do thing thing where if you got 2000 upvotes they'd let you trade skins, one rioter was talking about wanting to make it a permanent feature and this was back in 2012

A trading feature would be amazing and would be a really good service to the community, of course my idea of a trading system might not be Riots idea of a trading system but just to have it would be beyond amazing.

I doubt this thread will go anywhere but if it does, as a side game, what skin would you desperately want to trade for if there was a trading feature? Mine would be Rusty Blitzcrank as I've desperately wanted that skin for ages now D:

I doubt this will ever come true, not a really profitable idea from a growing company. I wonder if something like this could be done with the champions though, I mean, I have unlocked so many champions I don't use, I wonder if I could trade them with someone I really want and that takes me ages to unlock. Sometimes I feel the urge to play someone I don't have but it takes me days to collect 6300 IP :D

There's no way. People would be able to sell skins and it would create a league black market.

I'm a pretty big advocate of never having something like this. As much as I'd love to somehow get credit for or otherwise put some use to the numerous skins from Mystery Gifts I don't use, being able to trade them would cause a lot of problems for both the players and Riot;

Trading content leads to content being stolen. This will be both to dishonest people not holding up their end of a trade or lying about the rarity/worth to an ignorant player, and stolen accounts being used to generate revenue through selling the skins.
Trading will obviously result in a marketplace. If Riot is supporting advertising trades, they would set up a special sub-board for this, but players that don't know or care about it would post on any and every board, easily crowding out all the threads that belong there.
Anyone that shows their face in games or on the boards will inevitably receive unsolicited friend request spam looking for trades.
Riot would lose money, likely a lot of their main source of revenue. If players could acquire exactly the skin they wanted through trading, or buying from 3rd party illegal markets cheaper than buying it directly, they would. Mystery Skins couldn't be a thing anymore because they'd just be used to get skins which would be traded off at a profit.

Certainly there could be limits and requirements to trading to mitigate these issues, but they would have to be significant, and probably result in less than a half-assed version of what you really want. In the end, Hextech Crafting has done a lot in the way of allowing players to acquire skins without spending RP. Maybe some new features could come to it, but probably not trading shards.
