Currently, it seems like the number of wins you get have a small effect on where you get placed. All players know is that they will have their ranked dropped. Makes me ask: Why rank in the first place if they're just going to drop me back anyways? After all that hard work? Wow. And there's an easy fix to this. Start of Season make all players do a promotional series (3 games) to ensure that they still belong where they were.

✔✔✔ : Ensure You Stay Your Current Rank ✔✔✕ : Reduction of LP (-50) ✔✕✕: Demotion of LP (-75) ✕✕✕: Demotion of LP (-100)

But then what if a player has really reached their peak rank and division? That would mean playing would be pointless. The system (as unfair as it is) is the way Riot can make players want to climb, playing more games, making more revenue for them.

Also, I don't agree with how Riot made the formula to drop people a whole entire tier, but I do agree that players do need to be knocked down, but not so much. Maybe a couple of divisions is fine, the max should be 3 or 4. Not an entire tier. Many people work their ass off to get to where they were, so it really sucks for those players to have to reclimb a whole entire tier.

Riot's logic is that if you truly belonged in that tier and division, you can climb back. That's somewhat logical, but no one should be knocked from, for example, plat to silver. Maybe plat to high gold.
