Tips on Karthus?

I cant seem to play one of my old favorites anymore because every fucking item now gives Movement speed.... and its obvious that Riot favors assassins. so what do i do to play Karthus in this meta?

Is it to the point where Karthus isnt a good pick at all despite his unique ultimate? Becuase he is so Squishy and his dmg relies on hitting someone alone.... so if the enemy laner stacks on minions... its penut dmg... i suggest you take off that stupid Restriction (Only does full dmg when hit only one thing)

To be honest....yes i am raging over a game i just had... To where a Zed could Roam bot lane, get ez kills, and be mid within a matter of seconds, Also with his rediculous farming passive, his almost infinate escape paths,. what am i to do? it would take Karthus too long to get to the bot lane, and back up. by then a champ like zed would have already gotten 6 whole cs over me.

i am really disgusted.... That one single match.... made me realise that this game isnt fair anymore... they dont favor old slow champions at all...

But they are working on changes to Annie and will proudly say it.

Fuck you Riot.... Fuck you for creating so many champions, that you cant manage them all. Disgusting.

Go ahead and downvote assholes, but you wont even bother to give me a tip on how to get better with karthus? Yhas because you dont have any tips.

think he is a bit week right now and could us a small buff or some more utility These are some of my ideas for buffing him but Yah the wall nerff really didn't need to happen

this is another idea i had posted a wile back for a Karthus update.

Karthus is missing something to make up for certain falls in the mid game. So I would like the to add a stacking passive to defiled. Passive each kill give you a stack, max 5, each stack gives 1,2,3,4,5 per cent spell vamp Active when toggle on defiled he gets bonus % of ability power to all abilities you toggle off defile. You then loose all stacks and you loose all stacks at the end of death defied.

I think this would be a nice revamp to an old champ and would allow him to return to the pro seen. I would help to prevent early game magic resist shut down and help give karthus back some damage. I would increase his skill cap suitability and would not make him over powered. with max stacks and having defiled on you can have 55%/75% Q 55% E and 75% R This could be redused to only 0.5, 1, 2, 3, 4 Q. I know the ult seems op but late game if it doesn't kill someone life steel usually negate the damage.

I would also like to see 2,4,6,8,5 spellvamp per-stack and 1,2,3,4,5% bonus ap to all ablities. Since you only gain stackes when defile is toggled off and loos all stacks when toggled from on to off, this max for a fun mechanic.

Or they could add DFG's effect to his wall of pain and give it an area of affect that if an enemy champion would dash, flash, or tp in the area of the wall excluding ult they would instantly get teleported in to the wall and stunned for 1.5 sec.

Similar to how has a wall that stops the dash this one redirects you in to the wall giving Karthus more depth. I could even be renamed Torn Vale of Eternity

You know he is warping the space between life and death thus DFG's effect on wall would make seance as would the warping effects on dashes and tp's. they could even change his Q's so they deal double damage large jungle mobs and champs as aoe damage and triple damage to single target large jungle mobs and champions. NOW Lay Waste Cost: 20/26/32/38/44 Mana Range: 875 Karthus unleashes a delayed blast at a location, dealing damage to nearby enemies. Creates a delayed blast at Karthus' cursor position. After 0.5 seconds, deals 40/60/80/100/120 (+30% Ability Power) magic damage to each nearby enemy, this deals double damage if it hits only a single unit.

Patched

40/60/80/100/120 (+30% Ability Power) aoe minions

80/120/160/200/240 (+60% Ability Power) single minion and aoe to champs / large jungle mobs

120/180/240/300/360 (+90% Ability Power) single target champion and large jungle mobs.

Just in case you wanted a suggested buff.

Another idea is make it so that wall of pain is renamed torn vale of eternity.

and give it am area around it that make it so that if you would dash flash tp ect, in the area you get stuck in the wall and stunned for .75-1 second.

on another note just go jungle Karthus or support Karthus as long as your adc isn't bad you will kill the enemy repeatedly and your adc will snow ball.

Yah their is only one tip get better at pedicting movement and managing your mana.

FYI he was the only mage that didn't get his mana or mana regen buffed when they removed mana pots.

They also nerrfed his wall of shame and Swain stun so yah.

Kat op tallon op, Zed op, La Blanck op, Karthus damage do underwhelming. Even when you get 3 single Q hits in a row health pot under turret back to full health.

Hey. Don't ask for advice then blow up in an angry rant. It makes people not want to go out of their way for you.

Now, as someone else who loves the fuck out of some motherfucking Pentakill-singing Metal-as-fuck Lichlord KARTHUS the Motherfucking DEATHSINGER, I've got some advice for you that may help.

Abandon all preconceptions that Karthus is a mage. He isn't a Mage any longer. The days when Karthus could build item 3020 item 3048 item 3048 item 3048 item 3048 item 3089 and carry the game by destroying everything nearby him are gone. There's too much mobility (especially with the nerfs to Wall of Pain's slow) and too many bursty make-you-explode Assassins for that to work any longer.

Karthus is better built as a sort-of BRUISER. It's the only way he won't get de-fucking-stroyed the moment someone sniffs tersely at him.

My favorite build for him is a Swain-type build, because just like Swain Karthus can do more damage by staying in the fight longer than he can by maxing a bunch of AP and sacrificing durability. You do NOT want to suicide-dive with your passive. You simply won't do enough damage to make that kind of play meaningful, compared to what you will get by building enough durability to drop continuous damage over a prolonged encounter.

Go for item 3027 item 3116 item 3157 item 3151 then your final item depends on the enemy team. If you're fed and carrying, item 3089 . If you need more durability, pick from item 3068 item 3001 . item 3001 is also a good pick if you need more penetration, but don't get item 3135 unless the enemy squishies are buying magic resistance. item 3001 with item 3151 is all you need to remove base Magic Resist. item 3020 are the standard boots but it may be overkill on the magic penetration if enemies aren't building noticeable amounts of MR. item 3009 will help you chase and kite better, especially with item 3116 slowing them. item 3110 is also good in some situations but if all you need is armor item 3068 item 3157 will cover you.

Don't use your Q for last-hitting too much. Try to use your auto attacks. You want to conserve your mana for when the enemy dives you. If you can, drop Q's on the enemy when they try to farm. You actually have an advantage against Zed in lane because you can nail him with Q bombs when he moves to the minion wave to farm, but if you Q-Bomb the minions you'll shove them into his tower and give him free safety.

While laning, prioritize farming. Drop Qs sparingly. If you get dived, the mana you saved from being judicious with your Q-Bombs will let you WE then spam Qs as fast as humanly possible on top of the guy diving you. You'll either kill him, or get him so low he needs to retreat.

Just remember that Karthus isn't always good at starting the fight, but if a Zed or other assassin dives onto you, you have them right inside your most dangerous area: up close and eating tics of Defile. Let THEM start the fight, so you can FINISH it.
