Ive been playing league since season three. I used my refunds thinking we got 3 each season... i could easily play more games to win the IP for the champ i do want but it is abit of a hastle having those champs you just dont use that you would want to trade for another.

You have to pay for skins and (if you want them when released) champions with real money. What if they do a visual update or rework you don't like? Plenty of people have paid LOTS of money.

Also if you really want a refund on a champion that was really reworked, like sion, I'm sure you can put in a ticket. I have before and even after my 3 refunds, they gave me a refund for the champion. And all new champions are ALWAYS available for Ip. Save up your IP bro. Riot doesn't owe you anything.
Lugg1 votesYou do know that Riot never actually refunds your money right? Once they have it, it's theirs. All the refund would do is give you RP points (or IP if you are an idiot). So Riot doesn't really lose any money doing this.

And if you do not want to put in the work, or play enough to get it for free then, ya you can spend real money. But everything but a few skins are free. nothing that really impacts the game costs real money unless you want to pay for it yourself.

Have had this happen a few times and I just don't buy skins anymore. Haven't purchased rp for well over a year now. No protesting whiney stuff, just gets annoying.
Find a champ I love playing, buy a skin or two as I'll play them a lot. Suddenly they get nerfed into the ground or changed, then I just won't play them and wasted money.
Fool me once shame on me. Fool me more times than I care to admit after the fact, I'm not giving you the chance to do so again <_<

I'm not saying it should be a lot, like maybe 1 refund for every 100-200$ in RP purchased. At least this way they are tied to revenue.
Alternatively what Id really like to see is some way to exchange skins for part of their value. Like say I have a wukong skin already and a new one comes out. I could trade in my old wukong skin for say half of its value towards the new one. For me, there's almost 0 chance I will buy a skin if I already have one for that champion because im never going to care about both so to buy a 2nd basically means I spent twice as much to still only have 1 skin that I care about.

If three chances didn't help you learn how to stop impulse buying and wasting money, getting more chances won't help. You just need to lose money until you learn.
The 3 refund system was to free up support staff from having to deal with a billion of "I bought this, now I don't want it!" emails.
Some people used it as a way to "test drive" skins. Some people used it to unlock seasonal promotional summoner icons, which became free once they refunded their purchases. Some people decided to cash in their refunds when their champ got nerfed, or when something better came along.
Whatever the case, Riot didn't care. It was their way of saying "Okay look, we've given you the tools to take care of the returns yourself, and you can do it up to three times". That's a fuck of a lot better than any other micro-transaction game would give you.

Riot made just short of 1 billion fucking dollars in revenue this year with a staff of just barely over 1000. But no, we can't let you pick another skin. It's not even a "refund" it's an exchange. There keeping our money either way what do they give a fuck if we get 3 exchanges a year. It costs them nothing. And bragging about only using 1 out of 3 in 6 years? Well that's got tool written all over it.

I find it terrible customer service that after playing for 2 years and buying dozens of skins my life time refunds consist of 3 for when I change my mind and have long been used. Terrible customer service. It's not even a real refund, you keep the money it's just the RP which is technically not worth anything to you after it's sold : / It should be 3 per season option one, or you get more every "X" amount of RP you buy, if you don't want people who spend very little to get that many.
