The Real Reason Riot Tried To Contact LeagueSharp.... (they had violated secret riot agreements)
You see a while back, Riot made a sort of gentleman's agreement (and since has become more formalized) with these various boosting and cheating companies.
The agreement was that if a player demonstrated skills necessary to rise, he/she had to be allowed to climb eventually.
That is why many people come here and complain about things like:
- why is team demanding that I go such and such champion
- how come the team made such a big deal about my build or summoner spell when they were the ones feeding
- how is it that I get these trolls only in my series, etc...
(now most of this feed occurs at the beginning since riot NEVER actually views games much less who fed at the beginning.)
The remainder of these games consist of chasing down 'independents' or players not in on the scam, In order to "equalize" kills vs deaths, so that end game stats look legit.
So basically the reason for this, is to comply with the agreement with Riot. So as long as they can point to something which the player did which was "wrong" they are granted immunity from action by Riot employees.
So for example:
A player is reporting a large number of cheaters/botters in games and is placed on a "player of interest list"
This list goes up for review between Riot Games and secret meeting of the major cheat makers and botting groups.
The botting groups then go over the list and match it to their own databases. Since we are dealing with thousands of players in different elos. A game full of bots and feeders will get no punishment, because they communicated to Riot:
"player had wrong summoner spell," "player had incorrect build item" "kda of player end game, matched those on rest of team"
Because the ranking are based on a curve and only so many summers allowed to be in the different ranks, booster won't allow anyone to rise who does not meet the checklist, because it's bad business, they would rather fill it with one of their own accounts.
Anyway, I hope this helps clear up how things actually work. Many were wondering why Riot went after these particular cheaters, but has ignored the two other big groups of cheaters/botters
