Ranked Likes To Remind Me How Luck Based It Actually Is Sometimes

I've been on a decent streak of luck lately, which I thought was simply me improving. Perhaps it was a bit of both, but today has reminded me just how luck based Ranked really is, compared to skill based (again, maybe that is just this season and I'm not recognizing the snowball enough).

I started climbing pretty easy, and was doing pretty good (comparitively speaking) then BAM, hit a wall of trolls, int feeders, and more trolls. Went from nice and amazing teammates to people that should likely have been banned already with the way they act.

I go from carrying games with other lanes going even to teammates who give up at 20 minutes and start inting. ADCs who supposedly aren't trolling going 0/11/0 (clearly inting right?). Jungler and mid who don't like my choice in champion (since when was Rumble "a garbage champ"?), so they troll me, coming to steal cs and int into the tower.

I'm not usually one to rant like this, because I believe the game is on me, but when the choice of whether to win or lose is taken out of my hands, it is hard not to get frustrated by that. This isn't a "I blame Riot" post, because nothing they can do about it (aside from being stricter with trolls), just the luck factor of ranked makes it really frustrating.

Also an important factor to note: we almost never realise how hard the enemy team is trolling when we get easy wins sometimes. Their team might he flaming eachother, stealing cs,... etc and we won't even notice it. And when we do notice them feeding or them getting caught like a boosted animal, we percieve it as" we played well, we caught him out, we outplayed him,..."

Don't underestimate the bias you have towards trollers on your team. A good pick lategame will be seen as a good play quicker, and a ltae game pick where your team died will be seen quicker as a "trolling tammate who isn't grouping"
