what is the name of this movie, ive been searching for it for years now.

i saw the movie before 2001, and possibly before 1999, i was small enough that i dont remember when it was exactly.

the plot of the movie was this: there is a family, mom, dad, daughter (possibly step daughter, cant remember) the dad and the daughter are having an affair and planning to kill the mom. the daughter looks a bit gothy i guess has short black hair. (not like super short).

anyway, they are planning how to get rid of the mom. they go through with their plan and believe she is dead.

mom knew all along, faked her death and comes back moving things around the house and eventually showing herself to her husband and daughter.

the husband kills himself thinking shes a ghost and will haunt him forever, the daughter cannot handle what just happens and ends up in an insane asylum.

pretty legit movie, it had to of been a 90s or 80s movie.
