I don't think Pool Party Mundo is going to get unlocked...

3 days to go and we have yet to get to Level 2 for the pool party week. Riot, I'm starting to think a couple things are going on here.

  1. Timing is bad because everyone is playing their new steam games. Myself included. That means everyone in this group isn't going to be doing pool party that much. I mean why play boring old LOL that's always going to be there when you can play your new game you got for 75% off?

  2. I think a lot of your user base either doesn't have a lot of friends on their list or just doesn't team up with them that much, especially for 5 man premades. It's kind of hard to make a friend in a game (unless someone carries you and then you want to mooch off of him) because the format and pacing of a game doesn't really allow for it. After a match, most people are on to the next one so talking it over in a friendly manner there is less common than a bunch of GGs and everyone leaving.

  3. No guilds/corps/clans. If you can only do a 5 man team at most, you don't have the social options other games give you. For an event like this, you'd really need something like a guild and hope you've got 5 members on and ready to go.

  4. It'd be nice if there was a looking for group chat room. I mean I'm sure that there is one in the client, unfortunately most people don't know about it because you don't exactly advertise that feature in your pvp.net window and you can't search for chat rooms. That makes finding people in game really difficult and you are limited to the small group of randoms you play with.

You know, I'm not going to sugar coat it. League of legends completely fails at everything about teaching players how to play and play well. It's worse than EVE plus in EVE people don't rage at you as much when you fail at something the game didn't teach you to do. At worst you get an ALOD post on themittani and that's more a public shaming/learning tool than anything else.

Problem is that you need 5 people to get points towards pool party rewards...

The real thing is you normally dont have 5 friends on simultaneously. Should have just been points based on how large your premade group was.

There are plenty of chat rooms on the client that have been posted here. I think there's a "Looking For Group" room along with "Pool Party" "Pool Party 1" etc.

Anyway, my problem is that I play almost exclusively Ranked games. I'm not going to give up Ranked for a premade 5's normal.

I think this is the biggest thing actually. I've been playing Borderlands Pre-Sequel and Mirrors Edge and Cities: Skylines pretty non-stop since I bought them last week. Very little time for league :/

I logged on and gifted all my friends a mystery skin though, so I contributed :D

I'm pretty okay with not unlocking Pool Party Mundo. But I'm going to be completely heartbroken if we can't unlock the Pool Party Winions. I mean, you can just buy Pool Party Mundo. But you can't buy Pool Party Winions, and it would be sad if we gave them little hats and umbrellas, then we didn't let them wear them. :c.

Another part of this is Riot had to guess good milestones. Not their fault. It's a blind guess. They had no clue what to expect. However, since all these are freebees anyway, I'm okay with it. We get what we get, and we don't get what we don't.

League's methods of "incentivising", 5 man premades, is a skin they made beforehand. So instead of actually including an incentive, you went out, wasting your time on a cookie cutter skin, then realized the goal won't be met, then place it in the limited time only vault, only to be brought back again next year. Riot has no fucking idea what they are doing, when it comes to appeasing the community. They just do what ever they think makes them the most money the fastest way possible.

Honestly I think a huge problem too is the way that the points are counted. By having it being a team game the points go towards the same thing a huge number of people pool party to get zero points.

For instance two days ago I played 5 ARAMS in a row in pool party groups and we lost all 5. That's a shit ton of points that are lost. Because of the event occurring over a few days so many premade 5's are getting paired against other premade 5's thus making a lot of points lost when they verse each other.

In Summary: There might be 100 teams doing pool party at a time but only 50 get points because they all end up playing each other

I agree with your statement on the fact that Riot's tutorial sucks (has any rioter said anything about this ever? I'd like to see it actually.) But - It doesn't take the time to show you anything about roles, you just kinda learn them by being fucking screamed at by smurfs - shows you nothing about last hitting as a main priority - zero information on wards - lack of anything on items. I just. ugh. Dota makes you go through this really long tutorial process that painstakingly makes you learn to last hit - buy items - take one tower - now take the next - and that's just one game example.
I don't really think the community is chock full of "shitty players" I think it's chock full of people that never learned to play because they didn't have a friend to teach them when they started.

I wish it had been based on your individual points rather then a community thing. They probably just wanted to see how many users are still willing to play LOL. :/ I was really hoping we would get lvl 5 though

There are quite a few chat rooms, as Wild Card pointed out. The main issue with the rewards is that most of them are issued/provided automatically with an event, but this time they all have to be earned - and this seems a bit silly considering Riot only gives us 1 week. It really is too short a timeframe to spontaneously go "Hey community, get together and play more!" Shame on you, Riot.

Believe me when I tell you that the amount of metrics Riot handles can easily let them estimate the amount of points the community can achieve. I'm not sure if the goal of this event is to hinder competitors efforts, or just to make an estimation on how much can they force people into using the RP in events.

Yeah there's only a few days left now and we're barely just hitting level 3, so there's no doubt that we won't unlock everything. They set those WAY too high for a reason. They knew we'd never make it.

It would be lulzy and bad publicity for Riot if people don-t acheive the objective due to this. It's more likely that the end results are rigged and we will obtain the skin anyways :^).
