What stat-tracking options would you like to see for LoL?

Some of the API sites that call from Riot (Elophant, LoLKing, WardScore, etc.) keep track of stats that you otherwise wouldn't find in Riot's "Match History."

Examples include: Wards Placed, Percentage of Opponents Warded (By Class!), Champion Level Reached, Team Compositions, Game Length...this doesn't account for stats tracked across the game by Class, Champion, etc.

So, Summoners, I ask you this: What kind of stats and analytics would you like to see?

Wards placed would be great, so would shield points used (the points absorbed from enemy attacks), cc applied to champions/cc mitigated (Buffs and Debuffs). Essentially, I would like more stats that would give numerical value to Support as a role than just healing (since only a few Supports are healing focused).

It would also be fun to see some Team Composition analysis on both teams. Having some hard data to analyse what comps you are struggling with, and in what parts of the game, would be quite helpful.

I think "shield points" is a good idea, especially with the emergence of Braum. Are you thinking Buffs/Debuffs in general or in the context of an assist/kill/death/etc.?

And yeah, something along the lines of a compatibility percentage would be great. That may be tough given that you'd have to analyze it along the lines of a "perfect meta" and not everyone is on-board with that idea...perhaps it could be compared to global win percentages with a given comp?

Buffs/Debuffs, I'd be happy with on champions period. However contributed on a kill or were applied to a player taking damage on your team would both be nice too.

I don't know as it has to be about any meta, just a matter of your team had late game scaling and tons of cc, but no tank... etc. Something that will help put the deeper value of stats out there for players that are still learning to analyse what they have on a team. I understand how my champions contribute to a comp, but I don't know many of the other champions as well as that.

Ah, gotcha. Yeah I think having a general number to account for the compositions would be vital in helping teams pick/ban more so than anything else. It's just really hard to quantify +/- between Champions right now without saying, "Hey, look at the pros!" or "let's just play Meta roles."

Anything else you could think of regarding stats you'd like to see?

Something that I think would be tricky to add, but would be useful, is details about the actions in your area that lead up to 1. Your death 2. You taking significant damage and you getting away alive.

When you died where you closer to all your enemies than your allies? Were you on the enemy territory? Did you take tower hits or lots of minion hits? Were you cc'ed first or did you take a lot of burst damage after entering a bush? If there was a summary of these sorts of things over past games and all deaths for say, a month. That seems like that would drive adapting and learning.

You could have a similar thing for your actions that lead to kill/assist. Did you have wards in the area? Did you land all your skills? Did you have help from the team? Were there team pings? Did the minions help you? Etc.

I know those two sets of things would be a lot of work on Riot's side, and might need player feedback to help drive what to track, but I would be fascinated to have that information available.

I think that would be giving League something one step closer to defining "plays." Given the barrier to entry that exists for the genre as a whole -- not just LoL specifically -- the ability to monitor the context of your actions would be huge. It would definitely drive adapting and learning.

That would very likely be a lot of work, especially because you'd have to track 88 million metric tons of events.

Is it feasible, though? Maybe. Riot has done a pretty good job of building analytics into their back-end, at least from what the general should be able to decipher. Perhaps this is just something else they could throw into that system.

I doubt it would be easy, but with the updates to match history they are planning it's likely a step closer to possible(don't have PBE personally).
