Not cool, Riot mods.

I was hoping you guys would tolerate some friendly Boards humor that actually took quite a lot of thinking and effort to make, but apparently that can't be the case today.

Have a great April Fool's Day, Riot mods. I'll be sure to enjoy the 4 new warnings on my account for trying to be creative on what was supposed to be the most fun day of the year for Memes&Games.

Since the mods already ruined it, I basically started a post saying something about Riot addressing a long-sought after issue that we wanted to hear about, and it linked to one of my old posts I didn't care much for and the process continued, urging you on with things like "the post was removed, here's the reddit post" and "meddler said it better in the original." In the end it linked you to a comment from a post long ago by Meddler about his cookie preference (one of my proudest threads) and to a final post titled "welcome back."

I wanted to give the Boards something fun but alas, the mods were having none of it. Thanks, guys. Maybe I'll just stick to regular re-posting, shit-posting, and complaining about issues like everyone else. If I'm not careful I'll get banned for being creative.

For fuck's sake.

I maintain that the boards mods are crap

The board mods are garbo. The reddit mods are at least having fun today. The board mods are a joke lol

They ignore things they shouldn't and remove things they shouldn't. I'm fairly certain they have no idea what day it is and are just being as "useful" as usual. I know this will probably get deleted cause talking bad about them is as likely to get things removed as actually doing something worth getting removed, but just sayin'

Stop being wet blankets mods.

Just remember, these mods are being paid.

From my personal experience, you can get banned even if you are careful and shitposting along with others.

I even had a long talk with the "player" support about it - the main question was "Why I got banned for 'fap', but in 99% of cases 'fuck' is OK?" - and the only thing I concluded was that they were inconsistent nitwits who close tickets the moment they visibly ridicule themselves.

The comment section makes me sad.

remember when people were all talking about the star guardians? i saw someone make a post about urgot being a star guardian and then i remembered seeing a post where someone drew a stick figure and made it a meme so i scribbled my favorite champ (karthus) as a star guardian (in a minskirt) and posted it as a sarcastic joke and some mod thought i was being serious. so it was removed and i was told to put it into story and art... which i did and made sure to put a giant caption at the top about how i was told to put it there.

Some times it feels like they can't tolerate people being better at their job than them. What also annoys me is that they'll outright delete posts just for being in an 'incorrect' sub-section, don't they not have the tools to move or relabel the post? Or are they too lazy to do so? Makes me wonder if riot reads outside sources more often because their own forums are poorly designed/up-kept.

mods got a shorter dick than Vieg's model.

Mistakes can happen. That's a given. Not having a discussion about it is a second thing.

On my home boards from EU I rarely see a moderation mistake and every time a deletion is questioned, moderators explain why a discussion or comment was removed and take feedback for their future moderation.

I'd like to ask a moderator to come here and give some explanation regarding this issue.

To Riot: Iirc, correct me if I'm right, moderators on the NA boards get a small pay for their work. Maybe you can consider making moderation part of the volunteer program, like in Europe. Intrinsic motivation usually works better than extrinsic motivation.

My personal favorite is when they specifically tell you to do something, you do exactly as told, and then are punished for it without any reasoning behind what disqualified the post in the first place (let alone actually reading the thread).

Pretty sure the moderators are doing the least amount of work possible on these boards, I've seen far better work quality from volunteers.

Part of me wants to believe that this too is an April Fool's Joke :/

That really sucks. I'd be angry too if that were to happen to me.

How did you get four warnings from one post?

Shadòw4/2/2017, 11:39:41 AM1 votes

they should at least let us know who the guy responsible for the removal is
