EYO PEOPLE! To anyone who want answers to the past week of server issues.....
RiotGradius, a Security Engineer, has come out to explain the recent troubles and continues in THIS THREAD about what they doing to address it.
A tl;dr version is that DDoS attacks attacks on different providers and other network hubs has interrupted the traffic flow of League's service. Riot is working, and I quote
directly with the Information Security Industry as a whole to improve the situation. We're working to find a tech solution to block the attacks as they're ongoing, and fixing the underlying problem of open/unpatched NTP servers on the Internet.
So please stop trying to be the 1,000,000th "RITO PLZ FIX SERVERS" post. You will not win anything, you will not get a red response and you will not have anyone actually care. Here are the answers most are looking for and please look at the linked OP and see why he garnered a response when so many others did not.
P.S. For those who do not know, DDoS attacks are Distributed Denial of Service attacks, essentially someone takes a server, site or hub and pings that specific area so much that it jams up with all of the pointless, malicious traffic. These are not sophisticated or "intelligent" hacks and no one's data or info is in any danger. It simply gums up the works.
