So, i see sona in a Decent spot right now. She has some Strengths that most people dont see.
So i get flamed because many people dont Experiment with her and see what she lacks and what she can use Rune/Mastery wise. why not actually keep trying till you find out what works?
Take a tip from me. Every Champion has a place in this Rift. We just need to Find it. sona has hers and i found it. Who will you find? lets find out.

Sona is 100% playable, but she's not competitively viable at all. There's no reason to play Sona since Nami exists and is better than Sona in every way.
Also your only recent ranked game with Sona is a loss, you don't even have other normal games with her. You have an overall losing record on her as well.
I'm not convinced that you "found Sona's place" and even if you did Nami would fill the role better.

Nami's heal is stronger, in terms of raw healing, HPS and HPM. Nami's heal is 185+30%AP to Sona's 110+20%AP. Nami heals 18.5+3%AP per second to Sona's 11+2% per second. Nami heals 1.42+0.23%AP per Mana to Sona's 1.1+0.2%AP.
Nami has hard CC on a basic ability.
Nami's total damages are higher than Sona's. Nami has a total combo damage of 960+180%AP (Assuming 1 E auto attack). Sona's total combo damage is 919+148%AP (assuming Q power chord).
Nami's base stats are significantly better, she's tankier and faster than a caster minion.
Nami's speedboost is on-par with Sona's despite Sona's speed boost taking one of her active abilities away. 60 MS is equal to 20% at 300 MS, but that's assuming you have Sona's speedboost maxed, Nami's is always 60 unless hit by tidal wave where it becomes 120.
With these facts in mind, why should I pick Sona. Give me a reason to play her when Nami exists and is so clearly superior in every way.

LankPants1 votesYou're confusing viable and playable. Sona's a 100% outclassed non-viable champ, the only reason to play her is because you enjoy her. That's symptomatic of a champ that either needs buffs or a rework.

is wrong. Sona's a weak and outclassed champ right now, she's playable but picking her is gimping yourself.
You seem to believe that no champ can ever be weak or outclassed, which is just untrue. I told you exactly how Sona is outclassed, and you shrugged it off saying "some champs have strengths others don't.
So answer me this, what's Sona's strength? What does she have to make her stronger than Nami? If I'm playing to win why should I ever pick her over Nami?
Actually think about these questions, look at the list of Nami's advantages I posted and then remember that Nami is a bellow average support (I feel she's balanced, there's just guys like Thresh who really need to be reigned back). Then ask yourself 'Is Sona actually a balanced champ right now or is she bellow the curve?'

Probably feeding since Sona is about as squish as a caster minion with equal range. I mean yeah, it's a niche. It's just not one I'd choose.

i know this is edgy, but this is not meant to be a Kill lane like Sona used to be with her amount of Poke. With great communication with your Jungler bot lane can be won and snowballed due to sona having so much Utility in her Powerchord (I usually save Powerchord until i know what the enemies reaction is. Aggressive Switch to Green Powerchord, Running away, switch to Purple powerchord and auto accordingly after you choose your chord) If my adc is a God and is %%%%%ing them down with awesome poke and use of my Q passive. Then i might use Q powerchord. lvl 6 just makes it easier. However this Build Runewise is meant to keep her Viable in the mid game when she is mostly needed at the cost of a super strong Poke lane.

Lulu, Janna, and Karma all do movement speed better. The only thing Sona has is her Ult and powerchord, other supports can do poke better. Hell, Leonas Ult is close enough to Sona ult that I wouldn't even pick Sona if I wanted a stun. At least Leona doesn't instapop if the enemy counter pokes. Seriously, Sona is super predictable with short range. If she tries to Q or Auto you, punish her and she will be almost dead. She's just too risky to bother picking when I can have other poke supports who do it better. Not to mention that poke supports just aren't very good right now because sustain, all-in and tank are stronger at the moment due to itemization. Most poke supports couldn't even kill someone before going OOM these days.
If you like her, pick her and have fun. Just don't try to sell me that she's a top tier champion outside of ARAM.

Sona isn't strong in many matchups currently, but super toxic when she finds her favorable matchups.
