Does anybody feel mastery's cost a little too much?

So. I got the last shard I need for mastery 6 and saw it took a whopping 500 blue essence! I am 53 short,which I don't like due to essence being rather RNG based. and making sure you DO get a champ shard costs 1700 IP. and you WILL need at the very least 2 champ shards. so that's,if your not grinding keys at least 3400 IP
