Not sure why everyone is all super excited about CLG going 3-0

Totally happy for CLG, not by any means a fan of TSM or CLG, but it seems a bit odd to see twitter, reddit and so on blowing up about a CLG 3-0.

TSM were going to worlds regardless of the win or lose, 3-0 or not.

TSM had absolutely nothing to play realistically, and I'm not saying they threw, because I don't believe that, but I mean...be legit thinking about this. They gained absolutely nothing outside of first seed (which doesn't mean THAT much going into worlds). They were going to worlds no matter win or lose. They got to practice and be on stage in front of a crowd to get their jungler used to that big stage.

I mean...yay CLG but...they beat a team that had literally nothing to play for, so it feels like an empty victory to me personally. All CLG did was make Liquid have to play for their spot to go to worlds instead of making it in by TSM winning.

Going to worlds at all is a big deal.

Go look at recent TSM LEGENDS videos, they honestly care a lot less than their fans do about first seed.

Dyrus pretty much said it perfectly "we have to beat the best teams to be the best anyways" when asked if they would rather get first seed and have to face someone like SKT or get second seed and face someone like Koo tigers.

Only TSM fans care about them getting first seed, because at some point they will have to face the big boys. You don't get a pass to the finals by getting first seed anymore than auto losing by getting second seed.

It is all some false assumption by fans that are hoping TSM will get easier opponents by getting first seed, when it really doesn't matter after (or if) you get out of group stage at worlds.

edit: TSM fanboy downvotes incoming. The truth is the truth, and TSM cares less about first seed than their fans seem to think they should, and they have vocally even said as much. It's a fact even if you want to downvote me because you don't like it.

I am not a CLG or TSM fan boi and it is still a big deal.

TSM is not currently the best in NA so how can they hope to win worlds? TSM first mission statement has always been to beat CLG. The fact is that TSM are still not looking as strong as they should be.

Never said that, but they could easily be holding back strategies, and practicing specific things, etc. It isn't unheard of, and again you people are missing the point that even TSM isn't worried about TSM getting first seed, and have said as much.

If you knew 100% you were going to worlds regardless of win or lose, would you be stressing yourself out over it?

Lots of pressure on CLG to win and go to worlds. Zero pressure on TSM to do anything as they were going to worlds regardless. That's all I'm saying. Just doesn't seem like that big of a deal when you look at the big picture.

It's like teams in the NFL that rest players and don't stress about the last game of the season if they secured their playoff spot (which is a closer representation to worlds here than regional playoffs are). They have nothing to play for in some cases, and TSM had nothing to play for.

Funny because I'm not a fan of TSM at all. It's more the fact that I learned to read when I was younger, and I have one of the sense us humans are born with calling hearing.

TSM have said and written both in joking and serious form that first seed wasn't their main goal, getting to worlds was. They had that settled when they beat TL.

That's the start and finish, and you can be annoyed by the facts, but it is still a fact.

Be mad or not, still a fact.

So they get put into the worlds bracket for having the most points? So what? They stand literally no chance against a team like Fnatic with their current season. And if you really want to show off how good of a team you are, you would have went all-in on a team like CLG to really make them earn it. Fnatic earned their wins today. CLG earned their wins today. And after playing the way they did today, I have literally 0 hope that TSM will make it anywhere in the worlds bracket. I want to see teams that want to play, not that want to just settle for a spot.

And just so you know, I'm not a fan of any team. But I respect the players that really work for it, and that's what CLG did today.

I'm still correct and you are obviously still annoyed about it. My argument is 100% valid, and you disagreeing with it doesn't make it any less valid, it just means you don't like the fact and are trying really hard to make a point over a fact that...as I've stated, it wrong.

You going "you ams wrong" or the other guy just going "yuh huh!" aren't proving anything. The team themselves (as I've repeated and you have ignored so many times) don't care as much as you do.

Anyone who was watching TSM play all year knows they weren't at their best. They made waaaaay too many easy mistakes. Maybe they didn't 'obviously' throw, but they did NOT give it their all. TSM goes to Worlds every year. They wanted CLG to make it to worlds WITH them because they know they can beat CLG. It's one less team to worry about. And why beat them on a national stage when you can beat them on an international stage? Makes for a better spectacle. CLG hasn't been 1st place in any premier tournies since 2011. It was a pity fuck.

Think whatever you want, and be a fan of whoever you want, but if you were SERIOUSLY watching the games this year, you KNOW TSM was toying with them. (P.S. I don't check replies, so downvote or reply as much as you want, dood.)

Yeah realistically I'd like to see CLg and TSM at worlds if possible, not just at a basically meaningless finals. I mean, C9 were in the finals last split, but they didn't even make it into playoffs this split. Outside of maybe Korea playoffs, the other regions don't mean THAT much until we get to worlds.

China's was fun to watch but a bit of a mess, everyone in the EU playoffs looked sloppy, but the finals were at least entertaining as hell, and who we thought would win, won. CLG sure they won, but as you said, it didn't look like TSM was playing their all. I mean hell they came out with sweatshirts on lol. I'm sure it was cold and all maybe there (I guess?) but it looked like they just crawled out of bed for scrims.

TSM had been scrimming CLG, so it isn't as if they didn't know what they were gonna play, I mean they just kept giving over Viktor for example, because they'd probably rather practice against it than not, given real teams will be way more brutal with it. still happy for CLG but think people are blowing it up more than it really is.
