I want to know 2 things

Your general personality type (think Myers-Briggs), go here if you don't know what type you are.

and then your favorite champion and why.

I'll go first. I am the spitting image of an INTP personality, 'dreamy professor'. The kind of guy who gets lost in his own head long before he gets lost in a building.

They are not that concerned with the real world and practical things; from the INTP’s perspective, it is often less exciting than ideas and intellectual pursuits. People with this personality type have no difficulties noticing patterns where others cannot, which makes them brilliant theorists and analysts. Source

And yet my favorite Champ is Renekton, someone who both in gameplay and lore is one of the most impulsive champions in the game. I find that interesting.

Edit: Wow, this got a lot of participation! Thanks guys! I have been told I didn't mention why I love Renekton. Well, I have to say his kit versatility is a major factor, but I think the biggest reason is sheer presence. He can turn and go ape-shit on your face at any time if his ult is on you, and that can develop into a healthy fear of being near him. So intimidation factor I guess XD

Anybody else want to give it a go?

Now I'll be the first to say that I haven't been able to reply to all of these replies, and for that I'm sorry. But that doesn't mean I'm not interested in where you land! I have read all of these and will continue to do so, but I can't promise a reply back. But, I will return to this subject soon! I'll be messing around with survey tools to try to get some statistics going, and hell, maybe even make something out of it if I decide to get back into programming. Keep an eye out for it!

I'm noticing a pattern of efficiency with INTJ types, clear cut use cases and ones that focus on good timing and a little planning. Do you happen to like, say, Orianna and Kha'zix as well?

INTJ is often called the Strategist, so it makes sense that not only do I love both Orianna and Kha'Zix, but I really enjoy all kinds of strategy games. I came to LoL from SC2, and I play 4X space games, board games like Twilight Imperium, card games like 7 Wonders and Race for the Galaxy, etc.

I am pretty sure your personality can at least somewhat inform the types of champs you may like, and vice versa. I like high-mobility/skillshots/placement champs (like Ori, Syndra). Tanks, assassins, and ADCs are just not quite my type.

ENFP here too. Didn't know it until just now either.
I think my favorite champion is Tryndamere.
Tryndamere Jungle.

I decided to go with him because his play style fits mine. He's super aggressive, does tons of damage LOW health, and can't die for 5 seconds. Seeing as I play with next to no health anyways, no matter the champion, I might as well get some benefit to it.

Favorite champ is prob lissandra or akali. I really love bursty ap champs( and imo, liss has more burst than good cc)

This exact thread shows up about once year on GD and it's interesting to note that almost every Riot employee is extroverted but most of the player base is introverted.

For example, I'm INTJ but I do not think I could give a clear answer to which hero is my favorite. I did notice that all of my favorites come from season 1.

Vladimir was my first love. The sustain, wave clear, great escape tool, and an insane late game. He's got (had) it all.

Udyr I've always loved because you have a near infinite number of builds. AD Tiger, AP Phoenix, tiger/phoenix bruiser, pure tank, on-hit effects, split pusher, proxy farming, utility etc.

Gangplank I love pirates. Some people like ninjas, samurais, or knights, but it's a pirate's life for me. GP is the quintessential pirate and has most of the stereotypes. He's possibly the most powerful champion in the game at level 1 and I've cheesed many an ignorant top laner with him.

Singed is the hero I would probably pick as my all time favorite. If I had to refund all my heroes except one, Singed would more than likely be the one I would keep. I've had the most fun in this game trolling around on Singed. Flinging people into towers, no need to last hit when you have poison, triple lane proxy farming in the enemy base etc. So much to love.

Is that so? I can't say I'm surprised, personality traits are one of those things that everyone is interested in and it's a fun thing to compare. I only really got into forum lurking about a year ago, so I guess I missed it :P

Every Rioter is extroverted, hmmmm. Now is that a factor in being chosen or simply a result of working for Riot, I wonder? Or maybe just the ones who are active on the forums? Interesting....

Its probably influenced by selection bias in who posts on the forum | that they are employee or not.

Interesting idea! (You didn't mention why Renekton is your favorite! :P)

I'm usually placed as INTP or INFP whenever I take the test. It's hard to pick a favorite champion, I'll try to decide on gameplay and lore, like you, but can I pick a few?

Karma She's my main Mid right now, I think she's a ton of fun to play, plus her lore and theme make her seem like a very smart and powerful woman. I would vote her for President.

Jinx Love at first sight? Love her kit and her unhinged personality, though probably be a little scared of meeting her in person, since she'd probably kill me, lol.

Riven Also a ton of fun to play, even if I suck with her, lol. Also heard she's inspired by Soujiro Seta from Rurouni Kenshin, one of my favorite characters in my favorite anime. Also Redeemed Riven is the best skin in the game.

Yasuo Very similar to why I like Riven (funny since they're rivals). Likewise fun to play, again even if I suck, lol. Also his lore reminded me a lot of Jin from Samurai Champloo, another favorite character in another favorite anime, lol. Did I mention I like samurai/japanese swordsmen?

Ah yeah, the classic conundrum of favorites. I notice you really like mobile champions. To answer two things at once it's kind of like the main reason I like Renekton, there a very few times where you feel like you don't have an option. Renekton always has a way out or a way in in 99% of the situations I've run into.

Mobility is definitely a huge factor in my champion selection, I'm also a huge fan of skillshots and being able to spam out skills (ie low cooldowns and low/no mana costs), so you would think that Ezreal LeeSin would be somewhere on that list, lol. (Ezreal's boy-band vibe always irritated me, and I've just had bad experiences with really toxic Lee Sin players.)

And yea, Renekton is a pretty slippery crocodile, ahaha. The flexibility in his build is also really cool, pure damage Renekton is terrifying, tank is immortal, and AP Renekton, ahaha.

  • His quote is awesome : "To defy the natural order has consequences".
  • He's extremely hard to kill.
  • He has a lot of CC and Utility for his team.
  • His damage is quite high for a tank.
  • I'm obsessed with the fantasy of "living" forests and trees, even more so than with dragons or other awesome mystical beings.

ISTJ (though I disagree about the last point in the description). My favorite champ is Ashe, though I miss her old voice and lore. I used to play Drow Ranger on the old DotA maps and she's very similar. I also find her kit very good for training most general player skills that can be transferred to other champs.

I am also very fond of Lux (lasers) and Sona (music).

INFJ (what an odd trait) My champion picks are Karma, Leona, Soraka, and Morgana ,Usually supporting. But if I have to pick up another role I usually just go with either Morgana or Karma because of how flexible they are with roles.

INFJ personalities usually have many strong opinions, especially when it comes to issues they consider really important in life. If an INFJ is fighting for something, this is because they believe in the idea itself, not because of some selfish reasons. INFJ personalities are drawn toward helping those in need: they may rush to the place of a major disaster, participate in rescue efforts, do charity work, etc. INFJs see this as their duty and their purpose in life. People with this personality type firmly believe that nothing else would help the world as much as getting rid of all the tyrants (though preferably in a non-violent way). Karma and similar concepts are very attractive to INFJs. Source

INFJ fits pretty well with supporting in general I've noticed.

Yup I took you for an ISTJ, and Jungle as role makes sense. Make the tough overall decisions. I bet you don't even blink when you decide not to help a losing lane and instead help another (because, let's face it that always happens).

Ezreal....hmmm....he's pretty straightforward like most marksman, with an emphasis on aiming which compliments an average ISTJ's want for thorough accuracy and patience. Would you happen to be a fan of Udyr in the jungle?

I'm appariently ISTP? I may want to take it again (Although I know the nails on the head for the Introverted part.)

Some of my favorite champions are (And I don't have a specific list): Rumble Rumble, Lulu Lulu, and I guess Vi Vi would qualify for the third spot (if I was not terrible at jungling).

And I used to really like playing Evelynn Evelynn, although I haven't in a while outside of ARAMs. Might have to change that in the future.

Any correlation there, you think?

ISTP's so far have been pretty scattered as far as favorite champions, but I can say they seem to avoid flat playstyle champions, there needs to be a good, satisfying ult in there somewhere. But that can be said for most people though.

My favorite champ would be either Janna or Miss Fortune. If I had to choose between the two, I'd probably have to go with Janna. Kinda funny as I've never considered myself "Nature-feeling" and despite Janna being very in tuned with Nature, she was also a trouble maker. There's one thing we have in common at least :-P That and we're both incredibly good looking.
