Mercy function!

FH Keltic··2 votes·1,304 views

Wouldn't it be a drastic and important step to take to offer a mercy function. And what I mean by 'mercy function' is this; imagine a team has an AFKer, intentional troll and they are behind just because of that player. At twenty minutes the opposing team can type /mercy and if a majority of votes pass the other team, being granted mercy, then vote to accept or deny. Now doing this won't give the team with the troll/afker an LP loss or gain but the other team will receive a much smaller LP reward than winning for choosing to be honorable and end the game.

Thoughts?

So the team who gives mercy gets less LP? No one will use it.

Less LP than if they had won a game being dragged out over an extended period, yes.

People like big numbers. Giving them smaller numbers for less wasted time will lead to them going for big numbers anyway.

I think less LP lost for the team with the troll/afker would be okay but not less LP gain for the winning team.

It's a free win and the longer you extend it the more IP you get anyway. Not to mention LP in your scenario. Do you even sociology, bro?

In the event there's an AFKer from the beginning it's a loss prevented anyhow. Less LP, yes, but if you farm games for far longer against a 4-player team then you're losing LP in the long run to begin with. If it were 1LP or something? I'd get it. But I don't think 5LP is too much to ask for.
