Post game gifting, how cheap does it have to be for you?

I was thinking about the new post game gift idea riot has. Who in the bloody world is going to use it?

Seriously?

I almost never see honor being used. Honor is free. It only takes a second to honor someone, it is free, and still people don't use it. So if people won't honor someone because they are rushing into their next game, why would they spend 975RP or more on a stranger? I really can't see why riot thought adding a system like this would ever work or be used. The only thing I can think of for it being used is as an in-game way to pay off someone who is elo boosting you on his smurf if you two are dual-queuing. That's the only argument I can see for a system like this being put in.

Speaking for myself, if I was really, really happy with my team, I might spend some of my IP from that match on them. That's IP not RP. I don't see IP gifts as an option and if they are, it'll probably be out of my price range as I'm still buying champs, runes, and rune pages.

It's not like Riot is forcing you do use it, they're just giving an option.

Who cares if it's used, it's not hurting anyone to have the option in the game. It just needs to be used enough to cover the pay-time of whoever programmed and then it's profitable for them. Guarantee it'll be used by at least someone.

I can't see myself ever using it. If it cost IP, then yeah maybe once in a while. But not often. No way in hell am I spending actual money on a stranger.
