In one place, it's cool and festive. In the other, it is confusing and annoying.
edit: I think I'd actually be okay with it in chat, should Riot decide to add it there. Just not in the upper right, where it looks like everyone is dc'd and (IMO, more importantly) makes it impossible to tell who is in the room.
They tried to fix something that wasn't broken.. never once have I ever thought, "Oh god, who is on my team and on the enemies?"
Personal opinions are as varied as grains of sand. Each is similar and yet infinitely diverse.
I'm not a fan of the red/blue, either, because as pointed out, red meant a leaver for so long, that making the opposing team red just makes it seem the entire team left. And the sharp contrast between my name in yellow and the rest of my team in blue just looks bizarre.
The worst part about that is that you cant even tell if someone left. All you know is that you keep saying "HELLO?" for 4 hours and no one says "its me"....
The only time its legit confusing is when looking for an AFK, if there was no AFK's i don't even notice the color changes.
I agree but why is it not ok for the chat? I would like red/blue there.
I actually LIKE the idea of colored names in the chat box for easily seeing which team is which.
But I do agree that it was better not having side-colored names in the upper right roster box. (I used the red-name to help report leavers as well)
First time I saw it I thought the enemy all disconnected, this new color scheme is confusing as hell. This changes is completely unneeded and confuses more than it clarifies anything.
What's more annoying is that riot doesn't care about color blind people with these red and blue names.
In the chat it makes sense because I imagine it makes discussing easier, but in the top right where it shows your team and social options it seems like visual clutter.
Personally I don't see an issue with the red/blue on the right side. I'm colorblind myself and I can see the difference between a light red & a dark red. Definitely can see a difference between red & blue...
