Help For New Players

So I am really bad at organizing things I will admit, but I had an idea that I wanted to share in hopes someone could pick up the ball on this more than I think I'd be able to.

So we know by now Riot likely has no plans for a proper new player experience, that means a better tutorial, explaining mechanics and gameplay, and overall making the new player experience improved in the many ways it needs it.

I've played for many years, and I just think the new player experience needs some work, and I'd like to find some way that we as a community could help instead of passing out holding our breath waiting for Riot to do it.

With the above being said, I had a few ideas, and wouldn't mind some feedback or other ideas as well.

I think a comprehensive new player guide, created by us, the "vets" would go a long way. I'm sure there are guides out there, but something that we could make accessible here, not reddit, or some third party fan site, but here on the boards. Maybe we can make YouTube videos, written guides for basic knowledge, and even get some people to volunteer to play games with new players to guide them in a more hands on way.

Would anyone else be interested in something like this, and/or does anyone else have more specific ideas they might want to share?

I know some new players are scared off by the way they are treated sometimes, but it is up to us, as cheesey as it sounds, to make them feel welcomed, so why not just do it?

Feel free to go on a long winded explanation of how to help, or just leave suggestions, and hopefully we can go from there. Thanks guys.

I know I won't have the dedicated time to see this kind of thing through, but I'll happily give it a nudge to see if it goes somewhere.

I think one challenge in teaching new people how league works is just how complicated the darn thing is. Information overload is a real problem with trying to bring people up to speed. So, to help deal with that I feel if written guides are made to help people along the learning curves, they should be split into a beginner, intermediate, and experienced category.

Each would naturally have content of a corresponding depth, but in addition to that, I think each one should be limited in how many words are used to cover each topic. Because let's be honest, we don't want to sift through technical manuals of csing and lane positioning before queuing up, we want to just jump in and play!

Appreciate the response.

Hopefully some others will want to give it a go, but unfortunately people are a bit too interested in drama at the moment it seems and too few want to help others (have gotten some very negative feedback in other areas asking about this that was pretty discouraging).
