That One 30 Second Smite Ad

OblongOtter··2 votes·593 views

Why? I only see it on League videos, but I see it on most League videos, and League videos are the type of videos I watch more than anything else on Youtube. I'm just bothered as to why they had to make a 30 second unskippable ad that plays on almost every League video, and only League video. I'm not going to Smite for personal reasons, and these constant ads just make me really annoyed at the company.

First of all, you don't BUY Smite it's a free 2 play. My friend plays it. I haven't seen these because I have ad block on my laptop so I never see ads on anything.

Seriously this, Mozilla also makes getting it really easy.

Ads are how people/entities make money on YouTube. Without ads, there probably wouldn't be content creators or even the site itself, so it's basically a necessary evil at this point.

I would be really surprised if Riot controls the ads on other people's videos that have League of Legends footage, so I'm not entirely sure what you're looking for here...

I'm talking about how, not only is it pretty much the ONLY ad I see on League videos, it seems to be ONLY on League videos, and it's pretty common as well. I'm just annoyed that they made it so that they're 30 second unskippable ad plays on the type of videos I watch the most of.

It's because YouTube (and google in general) shows ads that are related to the video. Whenever you watch a lol video, they would think that you would be more likely to be interested in other moba, so they play a MOBA ad.

And whenever you play a video about computer help, they show an ad about a company for computer repair. Things like that.

So, you've noticed that as well. I wouldn't worry too much about it. I've played both League and Smite. In my honest opnion, I prefer League. Smite's a very unbalanced game (more so than LoL). Just install Adblock+, and you'll be right as rain.

But then the people don't get ad revenue, Admiral Thursday.

They still get their ad revenue from YouTube, just not from me.
