Coincidence?

I never lag, however, at the beginning of this game I pinged spiked super hard but I never completely dced. After I ping spiked the enemy riven wandered into our jungle where I was and killed me alone. Wtf? is this just a very bad coincidence of something else?

after 5 minutes my ping went back down to 78 and stayed like that for the rest of the game, like me lagging never happened in the first place.

It's probably a coincidence.

It might be something else. Just to be on the safe side, it might be worth making a Support ticket notifying Riot about it. Include any names you remember, as well as the time of the game and the type of Queue.
