Good Times
So I thought I'd have to work yesterday and it turned out I didn't so without much to do cause I wake up 1 am usually I started playing league. I haven't played much because I've not been digging this season. Much to my surprise the games were peaceful, exciting, and sportsmanlike. It was a grand experience.
Naaah. Who am I kidding? It was toxic as hell. There were two games though that were fun. Got some new friends. 4 of us had S ranks at the end of the game, the toxic member of the team did not. Imagine that? Best part, though, was getting flamed by people with honor banners (true story). Despite them never getting a single dragon, or attempting one, it was apparently my fault we were losing (that person had a yellow banner).
But this got me to thinking, if that chat box wasn't even there during the game, like 80-90% of the toxicity would vanish immediately. So I started thinking what actual uses are the chat box good for? I really couldn't come up with much that judicious pinging couldn't handle. A few more special pings and with the new ping anything feature, there is very little that can't be communicated with pings.
When I play ranked I mute people near instantly if I sense negativity coming from them, and those games go fine. So really, why is that chat box even there during the game?
