Getting a rank you're excited about and feeling confident, then after going 1-2 in a new division to be at 0 LP and you get absolutely wrecked in your main role.

I didn't drop back to my past division, but I'm definitely in normals for a moment because I got crushed harder than I think I ever have been lol. Played jg vs Jarvan and he got fb mid on a level 2 gank, stole went top after mid and burned top's flash, then managed to be at the same lane within 3 seconds of my arrival on the first 5 ganks I tried to make while also invading to push me out of my jungle, steal some of my camps, and getting a kill bot lane in addition to counter ganking every single move I tried to make. I wasn't even playing against a Nunu and I was just told "Hey, you. You don't get to play league today. Get the fuck out of my jungle, I don't care if it's on your side of the map, I'm taking it anyway."

It just, it hurt so bad. I didn't know a game could go that bad.

why would that be bad or worse? You realize the promo system is to just feel good about yourself right? The difference between mmr of the division barley higher than you is so minuscule that you are still playing vs the same players.

for example just because the players are plat 1 and you are diamond 5 it wont mean the diamond 5's are harder or will be harder in the first few games. It wont be harder till you actually make a difference in progress for example from plat 5 - diamond 5 is a big difference but plat 3 to diamond 5 is basically nothing.

Sounds like you psyched yourself out. Like the other guy said, nothing drastic changes when you get promoted. There is no big leap, it is the same increase in difficulty as it would be after any other win.

So I'm on a Mac and ever since the connection speed update for us I've been disconnected so many times I've gotten time penalties because of it. It's getting quite annoying you guys neeeeddddd to fix this it was fine before just go back. I also have friends on macs experiencing the same issues
