Question About Ryze's New Ultimate, Rhelm Warp

I believe I know the answer to this, but I don't think I have actually seen anyone test of confirm/unconfirm the answer.

When PBE Ryze uses his ultimate it opens a portal under-neither his current position. During the brief (2 seconds?) channel time, Ryze is free to move without interrupting the channel, but silences and hard CC will cancel the ultimate.

Please, correct me if I'm wrong so far.

My question is, can Ryze leave the portal zone without canceling the effect? If so, does he still teleport, or is it only units within the zone?

Yes, he can leave the zone, and only allied units that are in the zone will be teleported
