Something I really like playing is 
support. With her shields, movement buffs and slows, I always feel like I have a lot of control when I play her, and I've had decent success playing her (likely because of my low rank, but still). But most of the time when I declare her as my pick intent I get choruses of "Play a REAL support!"

Been playing a lot of Supp Ori lately. The shield spam is really feeling great, as opposed to the Q damage focus one might expect. I may take her to Ranked after I get a hang of not losing my ball and ulting nothing XD

I don't see the issue with playing your desired champ who actually has abilities that benefit her partner aswell.
