Playing a champion gets me reported

Three examples of people getting angry from a non meta pick.

I bought Leona knowing she was a good all around support that can carry. Bot lane not being my favorite I decided to play her top and got loads of toxicity, "i'm not going to gank" and plenty of other trash thrown my way. We won a clutch game

I didn't get mid in blind, so i decided to support Karthus. "You're just mad you didn't get mid" and "I'm reporting you" Woah. Karthus being a team fight god i thought i could pull of a supportive role. We ended up trading 1 (me) for 5 on more than one occasion and this Ezreal was still mad and going to report me for feeding (i think i ended up being 6-10-35). We won by a landslide

We had 3 ad champions and a pantheon support. I was going to ziggs bot lane as a mage and i don't think I've ever seen so much toxicity on one screen. Again another win but every single person on my team was toxic about me going negative and "feeding" (7-9 vs our 3-10 leblanc)

--Tl;dr-- People get mad about blind pick champions and want to report and flame and purposely feed because i picked a character in a video game. Thoughts?

I have one major question....How did you have 3 ad champions, a pantheon support, and yet still have a leblanc doing worse than you? That sounds like 6 players to me....very suspicious.

Im always torn on the off meta issue. I personally hate it. Not choosing something that isn't like top 3 in a role. But people who pick champions for a role they weren't meant for. On paper I think people should be able to pick what ever they want. In reality though it puts an large burden on your team both because of the choice itself and the reactions that it is almost certain to provoke. At the end of the day what is more important what 1 person "should" be able to do or what everyone else doesn't want to be a part of.

I don't really know what the solution is other than teambuilder where people can decide ahead of time if they are ok with it rather then being stuck.

Those don't seem like a huge deal. I might be slightly annoyed if it were ranked though. Only Shaco is a valid champ pick to merit a report. :D

If I see you picking Fiora for any reason I will report you.

These though, yeah, that's lame, probably won't come to anything regardless. Just say nothing and report them after if it happens.

Doesn't matter... picking non-meta champs is NOT punishable. I had a group of 3 who did it all Saturday night and had a blast. If anything, the OTHER teams were on tilt because of it.

I am curious though: What was the actual report offense that they picked from the drop down eg verbal abuse, negative attitude <----- this maybe?

ITT: precious little snowflake that needs to sabotage his team in order to express his individuality.

Pick FotM like any TEAM player would.
