Aurelion Sol rework is infuriating and clunky

It's literally impossible to deal with melee champs now, especially with the mobility that mid lane offers.

The W cooldown is wayy too high early outside of the "short" w cooldown lategame you're just an auto attack machine because the Q cooldown is extremely high. Its hard to even push with his current w doing no damage

Little bit of a vent post, but the rework just FEELS terrible.

Riot took one of the most difficult and rewarding champions in all of league and turned them into an awkward clunky mess. Nothing about new aurelion feels rewarding or good. His entire identity got scrapped.

The main thing they shouldnt have removed is his speed up when going straight. I mean that was very useful getting to and from lanes when needed. Asol is one of my favorite champions and I want him to be powerful the way he should be. He should be able to go toe to toe with mages like Ryze and Brand.

Typical Riot. I want to say it's not surprising, because it's not, but all I can feel is disappointment.

People not being used to him already complaining 2 days after release [sg-jinx]

What?

The Q CD gained 1 second in exchange for 3 less CD mid game, which is significant considering most ASol builds don’t get CDR (unless you actually think GLP is superior to Rylai, lmao), but that isn’t “extremely high” from what it was before.

He kites better now, he has his great roam still (TF ult range at rank 1 btw, Pantheon can only wish) and still fulfills the DPS fantasy. He is no longer hard reliant on landing his Q to do damage and assassins are no longer are a free win against him.

He’s gonna be too strong in 1-2 weeks time.

Go complain about what they did to Kayle instead

I hope to God they revert it, they ruined the first midlaner I got Mastery 7 on.

A Sol’s early game was destroyed in order to make him another late game scaling champ. Riot also hates roamers pre-6, so they hurt his wave clear and roam potential to force him to stay in lane. Late game he definitely does his damage faster, but to scale up there is quite painful.

WHY DO YOU HATE SOL SO MUCH? RITO?! you give him no skins and now you give him an unwarranted nerf? this isn't a rework its a hard nerf for no reason. cc could already counter hes passive that made him approachable now his w barely last enough to deal any damage and you didn't even compensate for it. (and no speeding up his stars doesn't do jack.) this doesn't help him late game it murders him he was good before don't fix whats not broken rito. he barely has any team fight presence now because his w is 1.5 seconds

you played him a single time vs katarina.

"clunky" doesn't really add anything. Pre rework asol was already considered clunky. It feels like that every time you pick up a champion with a weird playstyle.

Asol is still one of the fastest pushing mids, has an easier time dealing with melees now because of his w movement speed, and his lategame is one of the best in the game. This is all at the cost of his new weakness being his W on cd. His Q has always had a high cooldown so idk what your point is there.

What part of his identity is gone? He was a space dragon with orbiting stars that likes to shove and roam. Now he just does that even better.

Not a A sol player but, to remove the clunkyness of his kit, making it so he ignore minion collision when W is active could be a good change. Minion block with him feels 10 time worst than on other champ due to his star play nature needing him to be at the perfect pixel place to hit the target with them

I completely disagree. I played him plenty b4 rework and now after. Yes sol gets countered by certain assassin matchups but its suppose to be this way bc his roam pressure is so hi. I've have more success on new sol then old cuz hes alot more consistent now and I'm not the only sol player who feels this way.

Sounds like you just need to get better and use your stars after an assassin jumps on u instead of b4 , and you should look at your mistakes instead of blaming the changes ;)

The new Sol would be fine in a game like Dota, where they really don't mind giving a champion more than four buttons if they need it (and this Sol NEEDS it), but in a world without subabilities, this ain't happening chief.

time to play him as AS or On-Hit Sol in the jg

Watafool8/30/2019, 6:43:14 AM1 votes

I'm not entirely sure that maxing W first is the correct way to play him now. A lot of the damage from his stars comes from his level, and levelling the skill doesn't add much more. Yeah the cooldown gets to be 2 seconds, but by level 9 you don't really have the mana to be constantly activating it.

I feel like Q max first is probably better early, when W will scale better in mid game.

All you need to do to fix Aurelion Sol was to keep him the way he was before, and make his Star damage aura a circle wide constant damage aoe like sunfire cloak instead of having to constantly wiggle around his balls.

There, now he is less irritating to play, does more damage consistantly, and actually has a reason to exist in game.
