I'd say give it a week or two to let matchmaking be a little less shit.

This. I'd actually wait a month until everything settles then do your placements. I did so last year and got straight into Gold 5.

Not bragging or anything, but I do think it was due to the fact I delayed my placements until shit had settled down.

I want to say yes, because right now, I just started playing placement matches with my boyfriend and we've only done 2. People in our team (random people) have already done many or finished their matches. And so, they're on tilt. I'd say wait because that's what I'm going to do. Everyone's rushing (especially the people who can't really play) to finish their placement matches and you probably want serious people on your team.
