Anyone remember Zyra's power when she was released?
Ekko reminds me of that. He was on pbe for over 4 weeks. How can he be released in this state?

I didn't think Zyra was that strong on release. I wouldn't mind if she was buffed back up tbh.

zyra was hotfixed after being live for 2 days because she was so op. she received 3 subsequent nerfs and has been buffed only on one ability after being nerfed on all 3 others. and the buff wasnt even big. no man, Zyra was absolutely broken on release and i feel so is Ekko!
and i wouldnt mind a zyra buff either but she is in an ok state at the moment and buffing her could send her over the edge and make her too strong. we will see!

The current Zyra isn't that bad and I'm very shocked that she isn't played often, her CC, zone control, and damage is insane once you know her decently. She can carry games alone and a fed Zyra is no joke.
Once again, I have to state that Riot is more interested in making money off of new champions than balancing them. They don't spend near enough time testing them before release.

i spend IP on new champs...since i have too much of that stuff. I really do not buy into the "Riot is greedy" thing. And i really think they try to keep the game balanced. So far this season has been rather versatile with the champs.
Ekko is too strong though. Just a little bit overboard. And i have not played him enough to know whether he needs a CD adjustment or a power nerf or whatever. All i see is that he is overbearingly strong. Something has to give!
I agree with you that Riot tries to keep the game balanced. Unless it comes to new champions. They come out with highly technical champions that are very hard to balance, and release them on the same time table as any other champ. That is a recipe for disaster in regards to balance.
convinces me otherwise
If you ran into a good Bard player for once, you'd change that statement.
I'd agree if he hadn't been hotfix buffed.
Bard will never be good in soloQ. But in 5v5 teams or lcs, hell yeah.
I've seen him work even in soloQ (normal and possibly a ranked game once) Yes the lack of communication sucks, but he's still very usable. You just have to make the judgment call yourself (like Kalista's ult): Dare I go into the portal? Should I give room for the bruisers to be zhonya'd? Do I need the relic or does Bard? And that's not a bad thing either.
They released Bard in an underpowered state. Now, even after buffs, everyone still thinks he sucks. This means less people play him and less people buy him. Riot is better off releasing a champ slightly overpowered and then nerfing them later.
thinks he sucks.
Exactly the issue. People THINK he sucks, but actually if you know how to play him right, he is actually very strong.
I know and I agree. My point is that Riot is better off releasing an OP champ and nerfing them than going the Bard route and buffing them later.
Bard is DEFINITELY the exception.
They learned from their mistake.
ARAM AP Zyra is a beast.
Remember zyra now?
Wait, zyra is still in this game?
