Am i the only one who doesnt want Voice Chat in league?

The last thing i need is to hear somebody's legit flaming, arguing with parents, or Porn blasting through the thing just to troll. Even if you could turn it off, that would be a huge disadvantage. Im fine with using curse and skype because you actually have to be invited to the call and trolling with friends can be handled easily, but a voice chat where you cant even control whos in it or how badly they might misuse the system is just a bad idea to me.

The tribunal just couldn't work for voice either. People would just stop typing and be toxic via voice, since it is much harder to control voice over text. Instead of having a system that detects toxic text messages, they would have to listen to long audio logs.

It just isn't feasible.

Would immediately mute everyone in the game.

I think it could be a good thing if, you, the player, could opt-in or opt-out of the voice chat service. Not the same thing as "muting" other players that you're automatically connected to. If you aren't opted in, then you aren't going to be connected to other players by voice AT ALL. And if you do opt-in, then you can mute as you please.

One of Riot's concerns is that it will be harder to track voice chat logs for toxicity, which is legitimate. Hard to automate toxicity detection when it comes to sound waves, as opposed to reference-able text.

I'd like the option to enter into party chat with friends, otherwise, no. Pings are fine for game-communication

Just make it like all chat: Off by default.

I just can't fathom why people are opposed to completely optional additional features.

To all ppl saying "i dont want to hear toxicity"

There's always mute button FFS. Voice chat is a must for team play based game.

Voice chat is along with sandbox mode and a replay system one of the things league desperately needs. If you get easily offended by players abusing the system you can turn it off. But other players must be able to see who is participating in the voice chat and who not. When I play dota, or even ANY game with a voice chat, there's rarely a problem with flamers. The only reason why we don't have voice chat yet is because Riot is too afraid of all the crybabies in the community that would demand moderation of the voice chat, which is not possible by an automated system.

My friends and I have been using discord to get people on our team into a voice chat. Discord is easy for people to use because you give the person a link they click it. Then it opens up in your browser and your set, No installing anything. If they are toxic you can ban them but out of the 20 games I have used it only one person was toxic.

Until the community can grow up and accept people of different ages, races, and gender then maybe we can have it.

I agree. Have you ever played dota? the voice chat is insane people are psychos, flamers, 10 years old, or angry russians.

i would like it obviously you will be able to mute people but i can't tell you the amount of people that are oblivious to pings. even my friend who has over 2k wins never notices pings he also refuses to read chat or chat to people and complains when he gets ganked despite there being a ping followed by the mid laner saying "Bot care mid is missing" whenever hes pushing.

only time he will listen is with voice chat it this isn't an uncommon thing this is very common amongst LoL players mainly those who blast music while playing instead of having it at a level where you can hear it and the ingame SFX. ingame voice would be wonderful to help you with those who ignore pings.

I Genuinly cannot count the amount of games i lost because me or someone else pings to our adc or w/e that is pushing too far that hey %%%%% theres 3 coming to you in the jungle i know you don't like looking at the map or anything but hey you really should leave. but the don't die oh they go to do baron we try to stop them we lose or even if we get it we still got 30 secs till our 5th is back so they can push inhib either way...

voice would be nice just let me mute assholes and 8 years olds.

I actually am curious if most of the people who don't want voice chat have played Ranked games with voice chat in other games before. I find that besides the very occasional whiner, the flame isn't as bad as text only games I've played.

Casual/normal game modes on the other hand are filled with what you described: trolls, loud music, porn sounds, flame. But because they're casual games, my muting threshold is much, much lower so the instant I hear them speak i mute them and actually get less pissed than in a text only game such as league because I mute the person before I even get mad.

My experience with voice chat enabled games when I get a team of people who speak is great. I find a lot of people who have mics don't talk, and the flame is generally less than text only games. But that is only in my experience.

Yes, you are.

CerebralKnight2/9/2016, 1:24:09 PM2 votes

I think they should put one in, you can simply mute the person you do not wish to hear or hear you and problem is solved, also forces more team work makes for better playing with better communication. Also having to talk to people will cut down on trolls and toxic, a lot of people are braver to be toxic when they don't have to do it via voice, too many keyboard warriors.

SocialBu77erfly2/9/2016, 1:11:55 AM2 votes

I agree with this because no offence to the players of LOL but theyre are some creeps. I feel like there would be that ONE person that would be like a child raper and ruin it for everyone or just be annoying af the whole game

Jasiwel2/8/2016, 12:35:23 AM2 votes

I don't know, I think it could work just fine. Maybe it's just me, but I find it easier to talk others down from being angry rather than typing. While League players can be utterly sinister in typed chat, I've found most anyone willing to go into voice chat often just wants to communicate or have fun.

On top of that, I find those who are using voice chat are less aggressive in typed chat because they have another outlet. And if they're super aggressive and asinine anyways...then that's just the way they are with the game and you report/mute followed by moving on with your day. Yesterday I muted someone who was being a dick...and it felt great.
