How do you move across the map?

I usually right click the minimap, then as I'm closing in keep a close eye on the destination area and right click on the main screen if I need to make small adjustments.

Watching the situation at my destination too carefully sometimes makes me an easy target for anyone who unexpectedly intercepts me since this means playing with the camera unlocked.
