Range indicators with smart cast...

Why for some skills is this option completely unavailable? Is this an intentional design philosophy? For those of us that use range indicators, many of us preview our spell range by holding down the button and then release at the point of necessity. Is there a reason why this is disabled for certain skills? I would at least like the option to choose. I understand making Yasuo's Q auto smart cast. It simply makes sense for new player who would struggle with the champion otherwise.

As a person who uses smart cast with ranged indicators however, I have found the change very frustrating. I use the range indicator to gauge the distance of my skills then release at the appropriate time. Is there a technical restriction here or a conscious choice? I simply haven't seen an explanation yet as to why range indicator is disabled for certain smart cast skills. If you could elaborate, many of us in the community would be very grateful. I love Yasuo but this restriction is keeping me from wanting to play him and several other champions.

I feel like riot would have to link multiple spells with the smart cast feature in the esc menu for this work. Now, whether u have smart cast on for flash or not, for example, does not matter.

What riot needs to do is to make it so that the "default setup" button would include all the defaults of whether smart cast is automaticay applied for spells of each individual champion and summoner spell (like for flash) and you should have the option to turn off smart cast for certain spells that would other wise use smart cast by default (so now flash would have a range indicator before using)

Hopefully I have gotten my point across as it is very hard to explain lol.

The thing is, range indicator with smartcast was already working for Yasuo's Q3. They consciously turned it off when they made Q3 an autosmartcast. I see what you are saying for flash, but I consider flash a bit different as it is a fixed range that deals no damage and does not have to hit your enemies. Non damaging fixed ranged spells don't really need to be lined up or measured for range. I was more talking for ranged attack or utility spells.

Maybe there will be an option someday. They already have the slick menu setup for keybindings. Perhaps one day they can setup one more check box to set ranged indicator on a per slot/spell basis.
