With the introduction of trinkets, let's change how Dominion/Abyss/Treeline vision works
Specifically, these items:

See, a long time ago when Twisted Treeline/Dominion/Howling Abyss came out, we needed these items to compensate for the lack of wards on these modes. They're all good items and, likewise, they're often necessary to deal with certain champions on the map. Even now, you still have to twist someone's arm so they'll buy a hextech sweeper and deal with that damn Teemo.
However, with the advent of Season 4, we now have a slot specific for vision: Trinkets. With this slot existing, it seems rather ironic that we still have to buy these items. So here is my proposal for these various items.
Simply put, we rework them into Dominion/Abyss/Treeline trinkets.
Here are some basic facts about why these items should be changed:
- On every other map save for Rift, the trinket slot is unused.
- These items were originally meant to offer a way to deal with trap-using or invisible characters due to lack of a long term oracles (Which doesn't exist anymore)
- Commonly these items are neglected simply because they don't "fit my build" despite being powerful.
- These items offer stats but are rarely taken for stats and are usually only taken to counter certain champions.
With these things in mind, here some possible suggestions for how to handle this:
- Make these vision items free at level 1
- Vastly increase the cooldown (2-3 minutes might be good)
- Offer stats on these items (To go with the faster pace of the game) at the cost of higher prices
- Remove the innate trap detection but offer it as an expensive upgrade (IE: 1000g or more)
- Alternatively, keep these items as they are but allow them to be placed within the vision slot.
Might need a tank option or a utility option (Offering either defensive stats or utility stats)
It may even be possible to offer 100% customizable stat sticks for these items and make them so that you can purchase small stat improvements to better compensate for how the game flows. 5% Cooldown, HP/MP regen, etc.
What do you guys think? Could putting vision items in these trinkets make the flow of the gamer better?
