I have 110K IP. Riot, when will you be finally releasing more things (like IP skins)?
I'd at least like to gift IP to someone, I mean that would be cool right? Let us buy champions for people on our friends list for maybe 1.5x the price?

Influence Points were designed so that you have to earn the points yourself, so no a gifting option involving IP will never happen and 100% pretty sure Riot has already stated this multiple times in the past that gifting anything directly IP related will never happen since IP items need to be earned by the player. More IP content on the other hand would be nice though, like create a butt ton of icons and every icon created should be for RP/IP consumption just like champions, this could also be one way, and the only way, that items can be gifted since icons do not affect the game at all since it is literally nothing more than cosmetics and maybe be able to buy summoner profile banners with RP/IP.
I think the main concern with allowing IP to be gifted is that it would allow people to make accounts for the sole purpose of trolling through bot games and funneling the IP gains into their main.
I agree that some sort of feature should be added to let veterans spend their IP. Dunno what, though.
Or let people gift IP to friends.
I would love IP skins but it doesn't make financial sense for Riot to release skins that can be bought with IP vs RP. However your idea of buying other champs for friends is really cool.
I have 40K IP and don't own even half the champions. Most aren't worth owning anyway.
They have to pay for a game you can play for free some how
IP Gifting would only work without much repercussion if
1.) The Recolor idea gets worked out as a moderate amount of IP for a recolor goes through (3150 IP for Blue Lucian or something)
2.) There was a rank requirement that ensured that you played and excelled at the game (proving that you're human and investing time that's not wasted on farming IP). I wanna say an ideal IP Gifting floor would be Plat V.
3.) IP Gifts could only happen once a week or something. A cooldown would help solve the issue.
There are a lot of complications with such a policy, but it's probably never going to happen anyway.
Gifting IP will not be added. It endorses botting, and level limits are not a solution for this. It's possible to bot an account to 30 in under a week from what I've read on GD, and I presume that the amount of IP you'd have gained in that week would be substantial. So, someone bots an account and gets at least 30k free IP for it? That's a problem.
As far as skins for IP goes, that won't happen. Skins are the only real reason people buy RP (the majority, anyway.) and that was the entire reason RP was introduced.
Let us also remember that the entire point of the IP system was that you could buy champions/runes for your arsenal with a currency reflecting your experience in the game. That is to say that, you earn these things by playing the game yourself, not getting gifted them. With the exception of someone spending cash for RP to gift it to you, you have to earn it. That's one of the more appealing aspects of League of Legends, in my opinion. And that's why myself and most of my friends started playing LoL to begin with. It's a game focused on individual skill and teamwork, not Pay2Play or even Pay2Win.
Personally I would like to see IP only exclusive skins.
For example an cool IP skin that cost 50k and you can't buy it with RP at all. If you REALLY want it you'll have to buy IP boosters or just be patient and save up.
If People really want to buy it with RP directly, have the skin be added to the giant list of skins that come out of the vault during the holiday season once a year.
I don't know about the gifting, I think they would avoid doing something like that, but there definitely needs to be more to use IP on. Why not take some of the older, not so impressive skins and let people buy them with a bunch of IP?
The only problem i see with gifting IP is that it would cut back on the amount of people who buy champions cuz they no want to grind, which is profits for Riot which means better releases in the future. But the amount they would be losing is very minor so its a very small problem. You have the right idea though, once you have all champs and max rune pages what else do you buy? there should be something like your ideas.
