Why is there still Bard hated?

I first picked Bard support just now because I wanted to play him. Our jungler immediately goes 'GG' and locks in Gragas. Maybe this is where he gave up first.

We get into game and everything is fine so far. Top is dying, but nothing drastic immediately. Gragas starts taking dragon at 13 minutes. Enemy jungler Rek'Sai and Zed collapse on him, with Nid and I for backup but they get the dragon and Gragas goes down. Gragas blames MF for not leaving bot lane and says he's going afk. He continues to play and teamfights occasionally, so I didn't consider it a real afk, just a threat.

For the rest of the game, Gragas and our Wukong kept attempting to surrender. I was hitting yes as well because there's no point if half your team has given up, but two people aren't even voting. Towards the end they secured Baron and Gragas sat in Fountain spamming /laugh, not even helping to defend.

In the endgame score screen he says 'u were trash, u first picked bard thats an instant loss hahaha'

**My end score was 2/6/18. **

I continually saved my teammates from Zed's ult by ulting them (free zhonyas!). Our kills were even for most of the game, I honestly thought we could win if we coordinated better.

**But no, it's my fault we lost by picking Bard support. Obviously. **

The game, in case it gets buried in a long match history: http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/1820598289/36629323?tab=overview

It's because people are used to playing with terrible bard players. I had one the other day. 4 deaths inside of 10 minutes, all to the enemy hyper carry. Only roamed to die to another laner, when I was half health and pushed into turret.

Nobody should play bard in low elo, there's too many intricacies to deal with to effectively play him without heavy team coordination, which you don't get in solo queue. When you're in low elo you don't understand enough of the game to know when to roam properly without leaving your ADC at a massive disadvantage, he sure didn't anyway.

Why isn't this advertised more?

You know adc is like my worst role, but I'd seriously like to duo with a bard player that wants to learn him, even I'd like to play him but people can be really rude and selfish when you pick him

I think you should ask your team (especially ADC and jungler) before locking in Bard. I actually used to make the mistake to let people play him, I never got a Bard who didn't fuck up. Having a bad one - or one who lags - on your team is like a trolling J4 or Anivia, just worse. Of course that Gragas was exaggerating, but Bard is a champ you just don't play in solo queue. Especially not if you don't ask.

it is your fault at least partially. bard is weak and everyone knows he is weak. as soon as you picked him you caused your team to feel negative. probably they should have keep fighting even knowing they have an inferior support but your pick is definitely what started it.

you are in silver thats why. The casters said it perfectly the other day during a game at MSI. Bard was made for the pro scene plain and simple. He's made for the fast roams. The problem with playing him at low elo is that the odds are the ADC does not know how to 1v2 a lane. Even if bard doesnt roam for whatever reason, he doesnt provide much lane pressure against say Leona or Braum. He's not meant for low elo

He is just bad and chances are that you get a bad Bard like 95% of the times.
