View friend's past usernames

I would like to see a way added to view your friend's past usernames/alias' like Steam has.

I now have a third friend on my list that I have no idea of who they are and the only explanation is that they changed their username.

I know someone's solution will be to simply send them a message asking who they are, but that seems really rude. Especially when some people add you once after a good game and never speak to you again.

I remember changing my name, and having a bunch of people who kept messaging me about my name change. the status message doesnt really help well when there is a limit to how much you can write, but i think this would be a good idea. if anything they can have a time limit if they are worried about harassment, or even only letting friends know your past names!
