Hello all. I'm Mounting Dread, and for those of you who don't know me, I'm the shoutcaster for the FEK Events. What are the FEK Events? Well first off, if you don't know what FEK is you should check us out at http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/miscellaneous/3V6I7JvK-forum-enhancer-kit-fek-40

FEK, short for Forum Enhancer Kit, is a third party (approved by Riot) program that lets you enhance your experience with custom avatars that others can see along with yourself, the ability to easily see someone's op.gg, a blacklist function, and much much much more. FEK has been around for many years, dating back to the old forums before the Boards switch.
Over a year ago (wow has it really been that long?), we started FEK Events. Events for all of the forum community to join in. Most of us are from "GD" (General Discussion), but folks at Miscellaneous or Memes & Games or Gameplay are all welcome too. We do things such as League tournaments (standard, normal play), silly tournaments such as custon Nemesis games where you have to pick Champions for your opponents, karaoke nights, Pokemon tournaments (online), League of Legends art contests, and more. For most of the events there are prizes. At the least there are Fizz Chips, a form of currency that allows you to have special titles others can see who also have FEK on the forums, and there are sometimes Riot Points prizes as well-- often quite a bit!
As long as you're part of the forum community and download FEK/have FEK (it's a super easy process, which you can find out how to do in the link listed earlier in the thread), anyone is welcome to join us in these events no matter who you are. Whether you're a Bronze 4 memer or a Diamond 2 Gameplay poster, you're a-okay to have a blast with us.
So what happened?
Well, since we started, a few things put a break in our momentum. We had a staff change with a new FEK Event organizer (if you ever see him around, KiteAzure is our current one-- you can always feel free to say hello to him in the League client or our Discord server and even offer suggestions to him!), and then we got hit with Holiday seasons making schedules weird for everyone. Between having to slow down and having new management, things have been a bit shaky to build back up. What used to be 20-30 participants and growing has waned to a struggle to get a few to join in.
Which begs the question, what would you like as a community member for us to do for you and the community?
Our number one goal is to get us involved. We're all a family, and we want people to have ways of reaching out and having a good time together. We want people in the FEK Discord server to be able to talk with one another as forum goers and we want us to have a blast joining in on awesome community events.
As a shoutcaster, as the one who streams, analyzes, and provides a fun time with commentary and humor, I want to know what I can do to help get everyone motivated to have a pleasurable experience for others to watch. Because even if a 1v1 tournament isn't quite your thing, or maybe you're too shy for a karaoke night, or maybe you're too busy that day for a Twisted Treeline tournament but you still wanna pop in and watch here and there, I want to be able to make those who share the forum experience have a wonderful time watching our events, and joining in too of course!
So tell me, what do you think we can do better? What would you like to see more of? How do you feel we can improve? What would get you excited?
