Since the report system is automated does anyone actually read the comments that are put with them or is it just there to make players feel like something will actually be done while their report is funneled into a machine?
Ouroborous HD4 votesthe report system itself doesnt work at all. you have people running around ruining the game by trolling and spewing hate with every sentence but they never get banned. in fact its the people who are getting trolled or being hated on who are more likely to get banned.

Too bad I can't report Lyte. Also, inb4 Lyte shows up in this thread, shows of bunch of my toxic chat logs out of context instead of actually defending himself or making a valid point, and leaves(if past Lyte posts are any indication of his behavior).

I don't think the report comments are actually read, I just played a game with two toxic players, someone accuse the other player of sucking so I decide to play defensive on a forced role as support bottom lane and refuse to play aggro because this person went afk for 10 seconds, and auto locked, they ask me in game why I was doing it, I told them it was because of what they were saying at champion select.
Anyways after the game Riven reports me who was toxic at the end game screen, and I just report both players for two things.
1.) ADC did not communicate anything properly 2.) False reports
getting a warning for no reason at all because playing defensive on a turret to avoid feeding the enemy should not be a report worthy offense.

Jubbinaut1 votesAt the moment, that system is set to only send feedback to the player whose report triggers the punishment, to keep things from being spammy. They're particularly concerned about that, because they've got quite a few more features to add to the system, and that will mean more types of toxicity being addressed by the Reform System, which will mean more messages sent from the Instant Feedback system.
Lyte's said they're willing to tune down a bit on the Feedback, but they want to get everything in place first.

I really wish the report system dished out a bunch more punishment to the people who deserve it but unfortunately it isn't built that way

Maybe they already have this ability to see the game, but if they don't I feel like it might make reports easier.... oh wait. A machine won't care, thanks Lyte. No, thats naming and shaming which is against TOS. If someone was that toxic and you had proof and you feel like they deserve to get ban because of how toxic they were, you can always contact/submit a ticket to support and they will help you!
Its kinda funny how people are when topics like this come up on the board. There are too many people who come here to talk about how they were wrongfully ban, and they did nothing wrong. And people believe them with little to no evidence (not posing reform cards) just kinda shows how delusional some people are to believe every little person who comes here.
Its one reason why i miss when Lyte and other Rioters came to post like that and gave full details as to why they were ban and then the person in question almost always never came back on the boards because now we knew the truth. Not trying to defend Riot, or their flawed systems because i think everyone (especially people who work at riot) can tell you that the report system is flawed and can be greatly improve, but that takes time, and money.
People want instance results of reporting someone and them getting ban/restricted which is just not going to happen. Granted some toxic people can be easily found, but there are others who might just be their first offensive, or something that rarely happens. it would suck to have someone like that get permaban for something so small!
Seriously though as someone who has been playing league for possibly 5+ years. ive never saw a report warning, never been ban/restricted and ill admit there have been times when i was toxic, but i never let it get out of hand. Never felt i needed to defend myself or others because it shouldnt matter. Just mute, report and move on. I keep a positive outlook on my next game and never let it affect my next match.

I'd love to keep a positive outlook, but when you're in the legendary silver elo like myself its awful hard. Going in you know its basically a lottery that decides whether you will gain or lose LP in the upcoming match. All you do is pray that you roll high and that RNGesus is smiling and god forbid if he's not you're going to get the dregs of the ranked community(AFKs/toxics/(insert role/champion here or feed)) and its super demoralizing when you lose a game, not because you played poorly, but because your team was too busy arguing or holding on to petty grudges to actually play the game. On the other side of that coin, its pretty shitty when you win a game because scumbag last pick on the enemy team locked revive clarity Mundo and fed until their team could surrender. A good report system would go a long way in making ranked queue more..... fulfilling and less of a lottery

doesn't matter, the only thing that matters is the number of reports, so if you get matched up with 3 trolls u are screwed
Jubbinaut1 votesComments - with the Tribunal down - seem to "flag" games for manual reviews. This is particularly useful for pre- and post-game toxicity, since those logs are (still) stored separately, and can't be seen by the Reform System.
