Creepy, but you could bookmark their profile. It doesn't seem like it'd be a very useful tool for them to put in the effort for.

I disagree. A follow mechanic would allow users to follow each other and participate on the same threads, sharing viewpoints and experiences with each other. It could also be a way to follow certain Rioters whose responses you care about, particularly influential people, those leading organizations/threads like the MCCC, etc.
