People don't like getting deleted from the map.
Zed's on free, so he's banned a lot right now. That will pass in a week. Akali is just a noobstomper champ and has been a steady ban for a while. Same with lb. Kat's play rate went up, so people started getting more scared of her.
I main ADC and honestly if your team doesn't know how to peel and the enemy team has a good assassin you basically are useless. So yeah, I hate assassins. Also their whole uh... genre? Category? w/e... has two cusswords in it, and people in league NEVER curse.
Assassins in general are a very touchy subject. Zed is free this week, which explains why he is being banned a lot more frequently this week. It should be over by next week. Besides his shadow jukes, Zed doesn't really have many other fortes. His burst is mediocre compared to other assassins despite being single target, and he cannot erase multiple targets unless he is fed.
Fizz, on the other hand, is just utterly broken in certain match ups. His Q is capable of dealing 145% AP, 175% AD, 190 flat magic damage, and 8% of a targets missing health with grievous wounds on a 3 second CD, and his pole gives him a mini-Zhonyas every 5 seconds. Being matched with a decent Fizz will severely limit one's options for mid lane. As long as these mechanics remain the way they are on Fizz, he will almost always be banned.
Akali, LB, and Katarina on the other hand are banned because they are extremely good in low ELO, and occasionally in higher ELOs as well. They all have insane burst and spammable abilities. More importantly, if you feed any of them, no one will be able to stop them from killing your team. (akin to Vayne.) They can wipe a team out so fast that a skill shot won't even reach them by the time everyone is dead.
The majority of assassins such as Talon is actually quite sub-par. Talon is fairly useless against a ranged enemy, and Kassadin requires a tremendous amount of gold to start being effective.
It just that these champions are particularly good that people ban them.
