Team Play?

If this game is such a team oriented game where toxicity is punishable because of it and you have to rely on your team to win then why does every guide, youtube video and post embrace the fact that you have to solo carry your team to a victory to rank up?

I played Hockey & Basketball for a long time and one thing I remember is my coaches used to make us pass the puck/ball so many times before we scored a goal to teach us the importance of team work, if one of us became a ball/puck hog we would be benched because we are not playing as a team we are showing off. Yet in this game you have to carry your team of afk and feeders to have a chance to win which imo is not a team game.

A Prime example would be when you try to take leadership and you tell your team not to do Baron because it is warded and the enemy team is up and more fed, then two of your team mates have it in their head (who made this guy boss) and starts Baron anyways and ends up dying while giving the enemy the Baron buff while we are dead.

To me that is not team play, then I have to figure a way to win a game while I have 4 team mates who refuse to listen or do anything as a team which ends up losing us the game because at lower elo's everyone is focused on their KDA over winning.

I had a guy on my team who was 17-3, he did great in lane but never pushed a lane, focused an objective or cared about cs, he just ran around the map trying to get kills. We end up losing the game because he got cocky and started telling people to shut up he was carrying while he constantly started dying trying 1 vs 5 people without his team mates and then yelled at us for not being there when we were taking Dragon.

I guess my question is, how can you call this a team game when you put 5 random people together and expect them to play as if they have known each other for years? There is always one or two people on your team who is going to have an ego trip and feel they are better than what they are and try to carry without the team which ends up losing us the game..

Shouldn't there be a Captain for each team every game that calls the shots that people should listen to? Because as it is right now in lower elo Bronze/Silver/Gold people just do their own thing and could care less about team play, they go in the game with the thought that they have to carry no matter what the other players on their team is doing and to me that'ss not a team game it's a solo game with excess baggage to carry.

I get it you can't 1 vs 5 a team by yourself but you can't win a 5vs5 when your team refuses to cooperate in team fights, split pushing or objectives.. Even if you try to be the nicest guy possible and take leadership or even appoint someone else the leader to call the shots because most the time people on your team just won't listen or help.
