About toxcity and punishment.

I get that some things are crossing the like "Go kill yourself" or "Racist Slurs" etc. but in a society that is so damn sensitive why promote it? Trash talking will never go away, it happens all the time in online games, forums even in real life sports, no punishment will ever stop some people's competitive side to trash talk, you can't change human nature by simple banning an account every time someone gets offended.. That is a dictator ship thing that has never worked out well in the passed. Even then if they get banned they make smurf to get back at Riot and take it out on new players and other players by trolling where they can't get banned. I've seen it a thousand times.

People have a "Mute option" they chose not to use it, they have a language filter that they chose to turn off and yet want Riot to ban someone because they can see everything that person types in game. It boggles the mind that Riot rewards people laziness with stupidity.

Granted, yes trash talking can be immature for the most part and people shouldn't do it but isn't punishing people for simple saying "Stop trolling you idiot" a bit extreme when the guy who is being called an idiot is ruining four other people's time? Now I understand people are going to say you should just remain silent and report them and sure.. that would make sense.. "IF" Riot could punish trolls simply based on reports.. However how are they suppose to prove that some guy is constantly screwing the game over on purpose when Riot doesn't accept video as evidence?

I mean i could easily go 10 -2 in a game and make my team lose simply by ksing to get the kills and never helping team do anything. How do you prove i'd be trolling then if I never said anything in chat? Simple answer is you can't.

So we are left with two choices.. 1. go off on the troll for being an idiot and risk getting banned or 2. Say nothing , report the troll and nothing happens.

I'm sorry but punishment for trashing talking seems stupid when players have the option to mute & use language filter. Instead Riot should reward people for not trash talking rather then punish them while promoting people to use the options they have in game instead of ignore them.

I find it very odd and logically flawed the a guy can troll a thousand games and never get banned but you can get banned simply by saying the wrong thing in game a few times even if it's directed toward the guy trying to screw you and your team over.

W/e I know it's beating a dead horse it will never change.. but I would really like to know Riot's logic behind it.. If i'm in ranked I'd rather have a toxic asshole who is good that I can simply mute then a guy who says nothing but trolls the entire game to make me and 3 other people lose.

The fact is, Riot doesn't want a game that promotes disrespect between players. League, being a team game that highly relies on teamwork, is very prone to having a lot of toxic behavior in it. If they do nothing, they are basically saying it's okay to be toxic.

The end goal of that is unacceptable. While it is true that Riot cannot fully get rid of the toxicity, that doesn't mean their policies aren't effective at all. I think the summoner's code and the way it's enforced are helping. It lets players know what is okay and what is not, and being toxic is not. Pretty simple.

Murder being illegal doesn't make murder go away, either. But that is not an argument for legalizing it. Your argument is very similar in form, although not in magnitude.

What "seems stupid" to you is irrelevant. Riot's rules are set in stone and you clicked "I agree" when their Terms of Service prompt appeared.

If trash talking is what you value and is make-or-break for you in a video game, then see yourself out now or end up getting banned by Riot.

Seems it's been going downhill on a flaming motorcycle, ever since they removed the tribunal.

That's why instead of encouraging people to not be toxic post people recommend to simply mute your team at the start of the game strictly because there is the chance that they're going to be toxic/flame throughout the game. It's better to be safe than sorry and avoid the toxicity all together.

it's a matter of numbers. Most players are raging children and they like having a report function to vent their rage at themselves. So it's in the game.

Gotta keep the masses happy.
