Why can't we link main and smurf accounts and have a shared RP/IP pool

Title. It'd be a lot easier to level a smurf and get them ranked-ready if I could use this 200k IP I have sitting on my main doing nothing.

What if you could link up one or two accounts and share an IP and RP pool between them? You've already done the work/spent the money. It'd be nice to be able to use it. Sort of like an alternate to the IP sink we'll never get, except this one still rewards you for playing the game by allowing you to use the IP you've accrued.

Whats the point of even making a smurf account. If you aren't toxic and dont get banned, and don't dodge queues, seems to me there really isn't one

My take on it: Only if one of the accounts getting punished also punishes all linked accounts for the exact same severity.

Riot's take on it: It'd lose us some money, so no.
