Lorecraftin' time! What and where is the Void?

Title asks the question and here's my personal answer: It's post-apocolyptic Nasus/Renekton Realm.

Zilean's experiments cracked the temporal plane. Meaning his meddling can allow summoners to pull not only from different realms but different timelines within those realms as well. Nasus/Renekton's realm made a habit of creating animalistic guardians that both led and protected them yes? So what would happen if Nasus and Renekton's vacation in another dimension sparked a war amongst the rest of the guardians? The sudden power vacuum of what was probably the two strongest guardians could easily do this, especially seeing (through Renekton) that these guardians are not paragons of virtue at times.

So a war starts. More guardians are needed, faster, better, and with much less regard for aesthetics. Thus, the first void creatures are born. But they are merely weapons with the approaching danger of self-assembly. Enter in the classic sci-fi concept of the singularity, and the void creatures take over. Maybe with a hive mind super void creature? Or simply by consuming anything that isn't void? Imagination can go wild there, but what it does mean is the war ends with the Void creatures winning and not the original inhabitants. So what else is there to do but create more and more powerful void creatures and send them to conquer, consume and dissect to perfect their creations?

Thoughts? Your own theory?

Or maybe, just maybe, in a timeline where Zilean hadn't meddled with time to the point of Renekton being summoned to the League, Renekton fought the battle against Nasus - and won. His corrupted mind grew and he became a tyrant to the people, but they hated him, rejected him. So he created more Guardian's - Watchers. They saw the world through his eyes, they were corrupted as well, however just like Nasus said, they we're empty; hollow. So each and every void born being found it's own way to fill their hollow inside, still their endless hunger. Some search perfection, others knowledge and again others actually do have an endless hunger. This realm grew and the new inhabitants evolved. In their search to still their hunger they slowly destroyed the world as we know it, and it became filled with darkness. It became the void.
The beings who sought knowledge, much like Zilean, ended up breaking time and space, and they slipped into the realm of the League.
9 great portals emerged all around Valoran : In the North (Freljord), in the North-east (in the river above Zaun), in the East (The Guardian's See), the South-East (Icathia), the South (between Kumungu and the Plague Jungles), the South-West (Urtistan), the West (Conqueror's See), the North-West (Shadow's Isles) and the Center (Shurima's Desert).

P.s. : Imo Baron Nashor is a void-being as well. He came out of the North-West or Western portal.

The Void exists solely in Teemo's heart.

The Void? How silly of you mortals to try and think of it as normal.

Such a place falls beyond any simplistic reasoning or research. No amount of science or magic can comprehend or give meaning to this place. The void lays beyond the boundaries of space and time. Just as there are seedy crevices, little cracks between pipes and tubes? So too are there cracks and unknown worlds between the planes of reality.

You attempt to find reason where only insanity prevails. You attempt to apply laws to a place where there is nothing but madness. You cannot classify the void. You cannot apply logic to the void. The void is eternal. Every thing you "think" you know of this place is merely a change that passes day by day, hour by hour, minute by minute.

There is no rhyme or reason to this place. There are but two rules: Consume and Adapt or Die.

I think the Void is definitely some sort of hive mind/collective, possibly ruled by an overlord of sorts (Borg queen anyone?). Malzahar and Kog'maw both answered to higher callings of some sort in their lores, IIRC, which would suggest such a societal structure. And a Void queen would also quell the player base's clamors for a truly monstrous lady champ!

I think I would prefer to keep Nasus/Renekton's realm separate from the Void, though. The universe is a vast place. Not all dimensions need to be related to each other.

That's quite the interesting theory! We know what magic did to Runeterra, who knows what it'd do to Nasus's world over time?

The Voidborn can invade whenever they see fit just that they had been driven back by a powerful magical force which stopped their invasion of runeterra. Each Voidborn is rumored to have command of a world worth of twisted abominations created from the void.

New idea :
In an alternate universe, Riot released Hexakill on the Howling Abyss map. There, all 12 members fed their Poro Snax to one Poro, who then grew uncontrollably and consumed the universe, and inside that massive Poro is the Void. And void-beings are just its emotions manifested, hungering for more Poro Snax.
