Is It Just Me Or Does Ranked Seem So Negative Right Now?

I'm seeing SO many more Premades with the "we don't care about winning anyways, we just want to have fun" than I've ever seen before (No problem directly with premades, just the ones who only want to pal around and not actually try in ranked).

I see Solo players go on tilt faster than ever with the duo and trios basically trolling them in chat because "reports don't matter anyways" as they trash talk and flame as a group to gang up on people.

So many people seem to not care if they win or lose, just treating it like a normal game, trying out new builds, new champs, doing silly crap you'd see in aram (I'm sorry ranked isn't the place to "try out" AD LuLu)

I know it has been an annoying season at the start because of the whole Dynamic Queue drama, but it feels like so many people just don't care right now, and are just so quick to give up faster than I've ever seen in previous seasons.

Have I missed some big drama I don't know about that is just putting everyone in a bad mood? It feels like it isn't close enough to the end of the season for people to have given up completely, but I never see this kind of attitude outside of preseason or right after the point in the season where you can't get rewards for climbing anymore.

Maybe the snowbally-ness? Right now you can pretty much want to ff at 10mins, so every little, tiny mistake even at such early stages can be a gg (leading to a lot of frustration and rage and trollz). Of course, I'm not even high elo, heck, zero elo even haha but that's what I gather!

It might be game related, but it just feels like people have defeated and negative attitudes in champ select even sometimes. Like people go into games just looking for something to go wrong over trying to look at how to win.

No Wonder it's negative when you get a hard feeder every single game.

I'm not wise enough to know the whole truth, but it could be that this season won't turn out for the best. It's not something to become depressed about though. I am wise enough to know that even if one year's harvest is not great, the next one can still be great if we learn from those mistakes that contributed to the poor harvest in the previous year.

I don't know enough, but it's possible that drastically altering the environment by taking the players into a different matchmaking configuration caused enough people to become disrupted from their regular course of progress and development, so that they won't be able to thrive at all for the rest of the present year and now they are just trying to make the most fun out of their interrupted and stalled progress.

Whether it's really stalled or not is something that I can't comment on, but if the configuration is consistent in the new year, then, if my limited knowledge is worth anything, I should be able to say that we ought to experience a much smoother state of affairs then compared to what we're seeing now. I am naive, though, so I'm probably missing something. But a new year and new season brings renewed possibilities and unburdened new beginnings - so we could really make it great again. It's up to us to decide how we'll ring in the new season when that time arrives.

Ranked? I've yet to have a normal in the past year that didn't have someone attempting to combust the team. While I've had the occasional with someone actually trying to be a friendly team player, more often than not there's someone purposely trying to ruin the experience. Which is part of why I don't believe riot is getting any significant number of new players, that keep playing.
