@Lyte: You simply can't leave it to a machine to assign permabans.

I don't care if you think it's better for the community, permanently banning someone with a machine making the "decision" is just bound to get you into some serious trouble. Permanent chat bans are more reasonable, and something we've wanted added in, but you seemed to ignore us and insist on "GTFO OF OUR GAME!" stuff.

Worse, I can only imagine some people might want to actually ATTACK RIOT over something like this (i.e. petrol bombs). It's not like your building would be hard to find, and do you know how easy it is for people to make explosives? Not much harder than making a model volcano. (Hey, I'm just quoting someone else I heard.)

Let's try to avoid that violent scenario, shall we? Prevent your new system from assigning permabans on its own; permabans should only be assigned by human operators. It doesn't matter if it's a heavy workload; it's a matter of principle.

Their system isn't as stupid as people want to believe it is.

It's amazing that Google can consistently exist, and people still think it's difficult for machines to organise chat-based trends.

It's not the tech potential, it's the way it's programmed. Self driving cars and self-flying planes are indisputable proof of machine's ability to outperform humans. So a consistent ban system might be interesting. Maybe even - gasp - better than a random jury of players tribunal.

Riot doesn't go around actively hand out perm bans like hotcakes, it's pretty obvious they would program it in such a way that it's only reserved for those really special kind who really can't behave or improve, to the point Riot would say "You know what, I don't need your money, I just don't want you here".

Maybe, just maybe there are some unfortunate people who aren't that bad but still get perm banned. But let's be frank, to attract the attention of this particular system one has to be really bad, being less of a toxic bum still doesn't really justify their previous behaviours.

The system is more efficient than the previous human judgement, and it doesn't hand out permabans, only chat & ranked restrictions.

Im pretty sure if they have an automated system that can perman ban someone it would probably be for something like excessive swearing, use of Racial/Demeaning words. In all seriousness i dont see why people need to even swear in this game. it does absolutely nothing to help improve the game, or does anything to help the teammates so why use excessively for that matter? Plus im sure people are just taking things out of context. As serious as a perma-ban is, im sure actual people will look into the report!
